Joker from the hit game series Persona 5 is about to be back in the headlines. Persona 5: Royal is coming out at the end of March, and somehow people who already spent 200 hours on the first release (like us) are going to buy it again. The Phantom Thieves are the main cast in this game, and they’re Joker’s rag-tag group of rebels who fight against authority by using their smartphones to go into people’s hearts and steal their warped desires through a series of “Inner Palaces”, changing said villains personality....

There’s something remarkable about booting up a game, using a weird app to enter an alternate dimension, and quite literally attacking and dethroning God with your best pals, all of whom are wearing masquerade masks ripped straight from Edgar Allan himself. In a world where it seems like absolutely everything is out of my control, taking full ownership of the ability to do literally anything feels pretty damn good - even if it’s just in a video game....

Although it plays differently than its predecessors, Persona 5 Strikers is still a Persona game through and through. Players are advised to read up on a Persona 5 story summary before hopping in if they have not played Persona 5 already. Despite looking like a Dynasty Warriors game, Persona 5 Strikers is still mostly a Persona game, and that means hunting down and fusing powerful Personas is the name of the game....

After beating rival FIFA to exclusive rights for Serie A giants Juventus, Konami’s eFootball PES (formerly just Pro Evolution Soccer) has lost licenses for two of the league’s most iconic clubs. Konami announced this week that licenses for both Internazionale and AC Milan will not be renewed in upcoming installments. Previously: Manchester United Suing Sega For Use In Football Manager EA lost rights to have the name Juventus in FIFA 20, with the defending Italian champs sealing a deal with Konami in which the developers gained exclusive rights to their name....

You may not currently be able to visit a golf course, but 2K Games will soon give you an option to practice your game. Releasing on August 21, PGA Tour 2K21 will be coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia with 15 officially licensed PGA courses. There will also be a number of professional golfers, including Justin Thomas as the cover star. Developed by HB Studios, 2K21 will be an evolution of The Golf Club series....

Insomniac and PlayStation are teasing a Sunset Overdrive port/remaster with images depicting a crossover between it and Ratchet and Clank: A Rift Apart. The first image posted on Insomniac’s official account shows Ratchet using the Ryno 8 to open a dimensional rift, closely followed by another image forty minutes later showing Fizzie from Sunset Overdrive. For those that haven’t played the game, Fizzie is a giant murderous blimp that the player fights in the first Sunset Overdrive game....

Game developers are notoriously busy people, not only do they have to be creative and incredibly efficient, ironing out possible bugs or issues in their creations, sometimes they have to submit themselves to the dreaded crunch. Of course what drives most developers to pursue a career in the gaming industry in the first place is their passion for video games, not only creating them, but also playing them. Several major gaming companies have already detailed their plans for E3 2018. Ubisoft’s E3 2018 press conference looks set to include information about The Division 2 and Beyond Good and Evil 2, while Bethesda has also teased its longest E3 2018 press conference ever. These aren’t the only names planning something big for the event, however, as Sony PlayStation will also be involved “at full force.” In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Shawn Layden, the chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios confirms that the PlayStation E3 2018 press conference will take place on Monday, June 11 at 6PM Pacific Time....

PlayStation has introduced a way for gamers to be an integral part of its security defense system, by opening up the Bug Bounty program to everyone. Anyone with a technical eye for spotting security breaches will be rewarded handsomely for their detective work by partner, HackerOne. Senior Director of Software Engineering at SIE, Geoff Norton announced PlayStation’s Bug Bounty partnership with HackerOne would now be open to the gaming community. Before highlighting their top bounty of $50,000, Norton stressed the importance of “providing gamers all over the world with great experiences” as he spoke about product security being a crucial part of supplying top-tier gaming....

Throughout the years, there have been many different versions of Pikachu that appeared in the anime and the video games. Some of these versions of Pikachu have been slightly different, such as Puka, and some have been very different in contrast with each other because they can wear unique outfits or have a different body type altogether. A lot of fans have seen the evolution of Pikachu in the franchise turning from an adorable chubby mouse into a more slim version of its original self....

Though Pokémon is a franchise mostly targeted at children, that doesn’t mean it doesn’t have more mature elements that are mixed in throughout. It’s amusing to look at the Gen I Pokémon available in Gen VIII (Sword & Shield) and see how much they have changed. Most of them have become capable combatants; however, those very same Pokémon were less than desirable in Gen I. It seems no type of Pokémon exemplifies this growth in combat effectiveness between Gen I and Gen VIII more than the Water-type. Season 5 of the battle league in Pokemon GO is continuing with the Catch Cup. It will run from Monday, November 23, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST to Monday, November 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. PST. The Catch Cup has special limitations, much like other special cups that have appeared in Pokemon GO’s battle league. Players can only use Pokemon that were caught on or after November 9, 2020, with the maximum CP limit being 1,500....

Pokemon GO’s third and final Ultra Reward Week is about to come to an end in a few days, but there is still one other loose end that needs to be tied up. Pokemon designs have gotten steadily weirder and weirder across multiple generations.
