Although not as largescale, Phasmophobia is experiencing a phenomenon similar to that of Fall Guys and Among Us. In each of these cases, a small team of developers created a game based around a simple concept. With Fall Guys, it was always about the marriage of battle royale and goofy obstacle course antics; Among Us offered a fresh take on the whodunnit genre, giving players limited information and trust issues....

Phil Spencer doesn’t seem at all worried about the incoming PlayStation 5 console. In fact, the Xbox chief says he feels even better about the direction Microsoft chose to go with their own inbound next-gen system after seeing the official PS5 reveal. The developer Bluehole Studio and its parent company PUBG Corp. recently revealed to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans that it is “considering” region locking servers in the popular Battle Royale title in a bid to provide a “stable network experience” for those all who play the game. In a further bit of refinement to the title, the companies have also revealed that a fresh update is set to include an all-new weapon skins system so that players can customize their favorite firearms....

Niantic added GO Battle League to Pokémon GO earlier this year, and trainers have already taken part in more than one billion battles. When Pokémon GO first launched four years ago, there was no battle element to the game at all. Odd for a game that is rooted in battling Pokémon against one another. As with most features and generations in Pokémon GO, Niantic’s plan has been to roll things out gradually....

Pokémon Sword and Shield recently had many additional Pokémon added into the game with the recent release of its new DLC, the Isle of Armor. This was well-received by most fans as many long-term players were disappointed that the entire backlog of Pokémon was not added to the game. Two such figmas are being re-released and are available for pre-order right now. Figmas are figurines originating in Japan which are known to be particularly pose-able, and which usually come with various additional parts with which you can customize the thing. Arkane Studios releases a new gameplay trailer for Prey, with the game’s creative director and lead designer walking viewers though the game’s mechanics and features. Last night during The Game Awards 2016, Arkane Studios showed off a brief gameplay trailer of its upcoming first-person shooter, Prey. The trailer introduced players to some gameplay mechanics, as well as the unique ways players can fend of the shape-shifting alien enemies aboard the Talos 1 Research Station....
