Xbox engineering lead Mike Ybarra confirms on Twitter that Project Scorpio will work with the Xbox 360 backwards compatibility program when the console releases in 2017. It’s been known since its reveal at this year’s E3 that Microsoft’s Project Scorpio will play all current and future Xbox One titles. The point of the still-in-development console is to provide Xbox One fans with a beefed up system capable of higher fidelity graphics and smoother overall performance, but in the end, Scorpio is still considered to be part of the Xbox family....

Last December, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on PC received the desert map Miramar, which also signaled the game’s exit from early access. While the Xbox One version will likely stay in early access for the time being, the desert map Miramar is coming to the platform nevertheless, with a release date officially announced on a recent episode of Inside Xbox. As announced on Inside Xbox, the desert map Miramar for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is having its proper Xbox One release on May 24....

The PUBG Corporation, developer behind PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, has unfortunately announced that it will not be holding its PUBG Global Series events this year due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. However, fans and potential competitors will be glad to know that there will still be a series of competitions held, and for a good cause. In lieu of the PUBG Global Series, PUBG will instead be hosting a digital-only PUBG Continental Series Charity Showdown starting in May with additional events worldwide continuing through August....

Bethesda’s released some raw gameplay footage of a Quake Champions team match featuring prominent competitive Quake player ZeRo4. This is one of the first opportunities people will get to see uncut Quake Champions action, with previous trailers focusing on flashy highlights and Champion skill-sets. It’s a mix of core arena shooter gameplay, quick movements and precision aim, with the new character-based skills that makes Quake Champions unique. ZeRo4 is playing the Champion known as Anarki....

Over the weekend, Ubisoft offered a detailed rundown of the forthcoming Outbreak event in Rainbow Six Siege, showing off all the enemies, maps, and play styles for what is being called the tactical shooter’s “zombie mode.” Now, the publisher and developer has unveiled an official gameplay trailer for the content that shows off the new and limited time mode’s monstrosities that lurk in the quarantine zone in Operation Chimera. As seen directly below in Rainbow Six Siege’s Outbreak gameplay trailer, would-be operators are tasked with quelling an alien parasitic outbreak in the town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, which has mutated the town’s residents into a slew of horribly mutated creatures....
