Ever since its initial release in 2010, things haven’t been kind to Alan Wake. Last year, French media company Vivendi looked as though it was preparing to get back into the video game business by performing a hostile takeover of Ubisoft. Vivendi then seemed to cool on those plans, but two unnamed sources have told Reuters that Vivendi is resuming its hostile takeover of Ubisoft, and plans to own the company by the time 2017 comes to a close. Vivendi, which used to have a majority shareholders stake in Activision Blizzard before selling most of it off in 2013, will reportedly accelerate its takeover plans of Ubisoft for a couple of different reasons....

We may see a revival of Scalebound in the future, as Hideki Kamiya of PlatinumGames has joked that fans should send letters to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, so that work on the project could be resumed. Scalebound was meant to be an action RPG set in a fantasy world, where the main character was mentally connected to a dragon and the two needed to team up to defeat foes. The Scalebound project was originally financed by Microsoft and developed by PlatinumGames, with the intention of the game being a PC/Xbox exclusive....

Sony is launching pre-orders for the PlayStation VR bundle on Tuesday, March 22, including the PlayStation VR headset, camera, and Move controllers for $499.99. The first pre-orders for the Oculus Rift start shipping out on March 28, with the HTC Vive following shortly thereafter and launching on April 5. PC virtual reality is here and the hype is real. Console virtual reality may require a bit longer of a wait, with PlayStation VR tentatively planned for launch in October, but that doesn’t mean Sony will willingly let this tidal wave of energy pass them by....
