For the first time ever, Sony will not have a press conference at E3 next year. According to the Entertainment Software Association’s announcement of E3 2019, Sony Interactive Entertainment will not be taking part in the show. This marks the first time in E3’s 24-year history that Sony will not be giving their own press conference. As Sony told Game Informer, “As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community....

You will no longer be able to purchase or rent TV shows and movies through the PS Store from August 31, 2021. The PlayStation Store doesn’t only sell games and DLC. You can also rent and buy TV shows and movies on your PS4 and PS5. Well, you can for now. It has been revealed via the PlayStation Blog that later this year, it will stop offering movies and TV shows on the PS Store....

Pokémon Cafe Mix is the company’s newest mobile puzzle free-to-start game. Here you play the owner of a cafe whose customers are exclusively Pokémon and fill their orders through clearing the various puzzles. Your restaurant serves everything from cute coffee drinks to sweets to good old fashioned food, many of which the aesthetics match those of the pretty desserts so commonly served in Japanese cafes. Some of the dishes are so cute that a person even recreated the Eevee pancake dish from the game....

The latest update to Pokémon Home means people can’t request Pokémon on the GTS that should be impossible to get. Wednesday had a lot of big announcements thanks to Pokémon Presents. We got our first look at a brand new Pokémon Snap game, a mobile cooking game called Pokémon Cafe Mix, and an addition to the Pokémon App that’ll help kids remember to brush their teeth. Not to mention the big Pokémon GO announcements, including Mega Evolutions and a digital-only version of Pokémon GO Fest 2020....

Pokemon GO players have a ton of rewards to take advantage of in the next few weeks, thanks to the Ultra Bonus event. In addition to trying to hatch regionals from 7km eggs, players also have a new rotation of Battle Raid bosses to take down. For the most part, things have been running pretty smoothly for Pokemon GO since all events shifted to a play-from-home friendly model. In late March a few events needed to be rescheduled, but since then, everything has been firing off as planned. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case for the planned Pinsir Raid Day festivities. The Raid Day event would’ve seen Pinsir put in the spotlight for Battle Raids in the near future....

Pokémon Go Fest is in full swing in Dortmund, Germany, and the game developers have already teased a surprising future update. At one point during the special event, Pokémon spawns ended for the day and players gathered for an event-wide photo, when a hot air balloon appeared in the sky. The balloon was a plain black color with a red “R” emblazoned on the side – the logo of Pokémon’s Team Rocket....

The cartoon adaptation of the Nintendo 3DS Pokemon Sun and Moon games now has a premiere date. Pokemon the Series: Sun & Moon is scheduled to debut on Friday, May 12, on the Disney XD television channel. While the first two episodes of the season have both technically been shown, they’ll each re-air to kick the season off on the 12th and then be followed by the third episode on the 13th....

Get ready for a mandatory update, people! PlayStation 4’s next big patch is finally out of beta and PS4 and PS4 Pro owners can now start downloading version 5.50 of the system software. The new software doesn’t bringing any sweeping UI changes; but there are some interesting features worth exploring. The most noticeable highlights of the update include additional parental controls, a supersampling option for PS4 Pro, and some very cool new organization options....

Sony recently announced that the next PlayStation 5 Showcase event will take place on Wednesday, September 16 at 1pm PT. It’s quite likely that the event will feature the long-awaited PS5 price and release date announcement, as well as when fans will be able to pre-order the next-generation console. It remains to be see when PS5 pre-orders will go live, but an email from a UK retailer may suggest that it will happen sooner rather than later....

With the PlayStation 5 aiming to fix the issues fans had with the PS4, it makes sense that the platform’s achievement system would be refined further as well. Based on a recent discovery, it seems like PS5 players will be getting extra digital rewards for some of the trophies that they earn. PlayStation’s trophy system is already rumored to be seeing quality of life changes like trophy progress tracking, and it seems like Sony is far from done when it comes to its attempts to make trophy hunting more worthwhile....

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is a battle royale title that helped to popularize the genre which can now seemingly be found everywhere thanks to games like Fortnite, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Warzone. As a result, some may be surprised to find out PUBG is only now starting to approach its fourth anniversary, with the developer planning a number of events to celebrate. The theme for the game’s fourth anniversary is “SQU4D UP,” according to an announcement post on PUBG’s website Tuesday, based on the idea that it takes four players to make a complete squad....
