Now that players are officially making their way to the end of Persona 5 Strikers, it’s time to talk about the bosses. The boss designs were every bit as eye-catching as Persona 5, but with a different battle system comes different mechanics. While not everyone was fond of Okinawa’s boss and Demiurge at the end of the game, the shadow bosses were completely on point for the series. Many of the bosses used unique themes in their battle style and design that will keep them in the minds of fans for years to come....

During the early development days of Persona 5, one of the earliest concepts for the game was to center the story on a road trip. Specifically game director Katsura Hashino wanted the game to center around a journey of self-discovery, both for the protagonist and the characters around him. That was scrapped in favor of the traditional high school setting of Persona 3 and Persona 4, but that doesn’t mean a future Persona game couldn’t adopt that type of globe-trotting journey....

It’s been known for some time that Ubisoft intends to release another Assassin’s Creed game this year, but the company has been tightlipped concerning specifics. There is a discernible pattern of leaks leading to an official reveal with a release to follow in the fall for past games, though. As such, fans of the franchise find themselves in the ’leaks’ part of the pattern, with anyone and everyone weighing in rumors and leaks....

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has so many players it’s even beating Valve’s own games on Steam’s concurrent user charts. But even though the game puts up to 99 players on a sprawling island map, there has so far only been that one map for the game’s millions of players. The game’s creator, Brendan Greene, also known as PlayerUnknown, previously teased an upcoming desert map, but aside from some different land textures and vegetation, it wasn’t much to see....

Sony recently revealed its latest earnings report, showing that, despite the upcoming release of the PS5, the PS4 is still going strong. After this latest report, it has been revealed that 110.4 million units have been sold throughout the console’s lifetime, or approximately 15.7 million units per year. It’s no secret that the Nintendo Switch sales have been soaring as a result of the Coronavirus, as people are stuck at home and want a way to spend time with their families....

Gaming nowadays is more accessible than it has ever been, with everything from dedicated consoles to mobile devices allowing for hopeful players to get their fix. Still, developers remain eager to help break down barriers for those genuinely intrigued by their products, and this is done through a number of different means. However, a more recent example of this comes in the form of the newly announced partnership between Sony and third-party accessory manufacturer Hori for a new controlled being developed for PlayStation 4 players with smaller hands in mind....

PlayStation just entered the next generation with confidence, and another change is coming to Sony’s internal structure. Executive Tsuyoshi Kodera will be leaving the Interactive Entertainment division at the end of the fiscal year, relinquishing control of PlayStation’s online services. However, Kodera won’t be leaving the Sony family as the veteran plans to step into a new role within the corporation on April 1. This domestic change comes hot on the heels of suspicion surrounding Sony’s intent to focus more on the US market instead of its native one - resulting in the removal of development team members, including Demon’s Souls producer Teruyuki Toriyama and Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama....

PlayStation was responsible for almost half of all gaming ad impressions during the build to the release of the next generation of console. It doesn’t feel as if it was that long ago that both PlayStation and Xbox were being annoyingly closed off when it came to releasing any information about their new consoles. However, once the floodgates opened, new info came thick and fast. Other than the prices. The two played a dangerous game of chicken when it came to cost and it was Xbox that blinked first....

Earlier this week, Marvel Comics spilled the beans regarding its latest cross-over, Secret Wars. The eight issue miniseries (written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by Esad Ribic) chronicles the adventures of the Earth’s mightiest heroes as alternate realities collide, creating a composite Earth called Battleworld and ending the Marvel universe as we know it. Hot on the heels of this announcement, Unseen Games - a blog dedicated to cancelled or otherwise lost video games ­- uncovered a different alternate reality: one in which THQ’s Marvel spin-off The Avengers made it past the early development stage....

Team GO Rocket has returned to Pokémon GO, and this time, they’ve got hot air balloons. Team GO Rocket has been a part of Pokémon GO since 2019. However, the franchise’s villainous organization has regrouped and returned via hot air balloons. Although some of Rocket’s Grunts remain at PokéStops, players can now interact and battle its members when they see a balloon hovering above them just by clicking on it....

Pokémon GO is about to switch up its field research rewards. If you have taken a break from the game, you’re going to want to get back out there after you hear this. Pokémon GO has been able to keep itself not only relevant, but extremely popular thanks to the constant updates and additions Niantic has made to the game. It was slow going at first, but the game’s developers have really kicked things up a notch over the past year....

The early game Pokémon available to the player in Pokémon Gold and Silver are far more diverse than in the original Red and Blue games, with the player having access to the likes of Gastly and Onix even before the first gym leader has been beaten, and allow for more diverse and powerful teams to be made earlier in the game with what is available. However, not all early game Pokémon fall into the category of useful, as is the case with most other Pokémon titles, many of the creatures that can be caught early in the game are quickly overshadowed in later areas of the game....

Pokémon Sword & Shield’s first DLC, the Isle of Armor, recently dropped this past June. It brought with it a host of new and returning Pokémon to hunt down. The Alola region’s Sandygast was among the returning national dex entries. When trainers are mindful of playing to this Pokémon’s strengths in battle, this sandcastle can hold down the fort. While it’s not a rarity on the sandy shores of the Isle, it is only found in particular locations....

Pokemon Go players are about to get a crack at a guaranteed shiny Mythical for the first time ever. Niantic announced an upcoming event based on the new film, Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle, which will feature a shiny Celebi. Secrets of the Jungle is set to debut in Japan on Christmas Day, and The Pokemon Company is celebrating with an in-game reward for Sword & Shield. That reward is Zarude, a new Dark/Grass-type monkey Pokemon that stars in the movie....

Though the English-speaking dub of the show has yet to premiere in the United States on Netflix, the dub premiered in Canada yesterday on Canada’s Teletoon channel. A fan was quick to upload the 30 second song from band Walk Off the Earth for all of us to enjoy. Pokemon Journeys, is the follow up to the several seasons based on the Pokemon Sun & Moon video games....
