Persona 5 Royal removed the most game-breaking exploit from the original Persona 5 as part of the wave of combat and difficulty balancing improvements. It’s over, everyone. The most meme-worthy exploit from Persona 5 no longer works in Royal: you can’t destroy all semblance of level progression by waiting for the Reaper to die from a bad case of the sniffles during flu season. Abusing the poor Mementos targets for money has been nerfed as well, with the Confuse status effect only lasting one turn and making the whole exploit much less efficient....

Easily one of the greatest character additions to the Persona 5 universe, Persona 5 Royal’s Dr. Takuto Maruki has captured the hearts of players alike. From his instantly likable demeanor, sympathy for Joker and his friends, and affinity to keep his patients fueled with plenty of snacks, it’s hard not to love Shujin Academy’s part-time guidance counselor. Speaking of those infamous snacks, those who’ve played Royal will recognize Maruki’s continuous emphasis on his free snacks available to anyone who comes to a counseling session....

Taking a step back from the well-established formula fans have gotten to know very well over the years, Strikers takes a different approach to the series. It delivers an action-packed title to satisfy those Persona urges. Based around the combat of the game, players will get much more fight time vs. previous games, shifting the focus away from the story for a while. After yesterday’s surprise announcement, publisher Taito and developer Natsume Atari have released a new trailer for the upcoming Pocky & Rocky 2021. Likely a placeholder name until a better title comes along, the trailer shows off the visual style of this sequel and it looks absolutely amazing. I’m not sure why more developers don’t utilize traditional sprite work in HD, because it really shines here. Not only do we have some footage from the game, but Natsume Atari has confirmed the title will be heading west too....

Although Pokemon GO has made some incredibly quality of life improvements since it launched three years ago, the game still isn’t perfect. While evolution stones have existed since the first generation, the Shiny Stone was not introduced until the Sinnoh region. It’s almost morphin’ time ladies and gentlemen, as developer nWay has finally announced the release date for Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid. The expansive fighting title will be released on March 26th for Nintendo Switch and Xbox One, while PS4 and PC versions will be released a bit later. A follow-up tweet says that the PC version will be released in the summer, so those who have pre-ordered the game on Steam will have to wait a little longer....

Sony has officially confirmed that the PlayStation 5 will not require an online connection to play offline games, working the same way as the PlayStation 4. Announced as part of Sony’s PlayStation 5 user interface video, the news means players won’t have to wait for a patch update or online verification to start a newly purchased game as long as they are offline. Games that are played online will require an internet connection and will update as needed to allow online access but an offline single-player game can be booted as soon as it installs....

Quantum Break developer Remedy Entertainment says that it is “working diligently” to fix the game’s various issues, including frame-rate and slowdown. Released last week, Remedy Entertainment’s sci-fi adventure Quantum Break has received mostly positive reviews from critics who say that its time-bending gameplay ‘pushes the genre’, while its story is ‘compelling’ and is some of the best narrative work the developer has ever created. What has been heavily criticized, however, is the game’s performance, particularly on PC....

Following a premature listing by a ratings board, Microsoft and Remedy Entertainment confirm that Quantum Break will be releasing on PC as well as Xbox One. Quantum Break, the upcoming third-person shooter from Remedy Entertainment, is one of the Xbox One’s most hotly anticipated titles for 2015. Not only has the game drawn interest for its live-action series, but also because it was announced as an Xbox One exclusive, with some tipping the title as a major system seller....

TeamKill Media recently revealed Quantum Error, an upcoming PS5 horror game with a cosmic horror theme. The Quantum Error announcement trailer didn’t show much beyond that the game is a first-person shooter, but now TeamKill Media has released some new videos testing certain aspects of the game. In one Quantum Error video, TeamKill demonstrates the game’s physics. In the tweet showing off the test, the developers claim that 99.9% of the objects found in Quantum Error will be “physically simulating,” meaning that virtually every object in the game will have its own physics....
