The PlayStation 3 was originally launched in November 2006, making the console seven years old now. Since its launch, the PlayStation 3 has endured a series of up-and-down moments. Sony’s console was widely considered a sales failure for a long duration after its release. In April 2007 the console had only sold 812,000 units, less than half of the Nintendo Wii’s sales in the same time frame, and was suffering in the Japanese and European markets....

Pokémon Black & White released a decade ago at this point, and the fifth generation of games still have features they introduced that are a major part of the franchise. Generations in the series build bonds with specific age demographics as they release, and there is a large section of the Pokémon fanbase that considers the Unova region the best in the series, while others have their favorite generation they’re attached to....

In the world of Pokémon, many of the technological advancements have come with the aid of Electric-type Pokémon who help power all of it. Outside of Pikachu, the mascot of the franchise, Electric-types often get overlooked in favor of the Water and Fire-types of the world. Niantic has officially confirmed that its promised feature that will allow trainers to invite friends to raids has been delayed due to technical issues. As soon as large parts of the world went into lockdown over three months ago, Niantic got to work on making sure trainers could still play Pokémon GO. The world being urged to stay inside as it tried to fight a global pandemic could have spelled disaster for the AR game....

Without exaggeration, the addition of Elite TMs to Pokémon GO is one of the most important changes in the history of the game. This new feature allows players to choose moves from both the regular TM list and Legacy moves, those that Pokémon were only able to learn naturally but are not longer available, and those from rare Community Day or Raid events....

Pokémon Red and Blue were two of the biggest games on the original GameBoy, so it only makes sense that Nintendo would have Game Freak work on a sequel. The result was the critically-acclaimed duo of Pokémon Gold and Silver. Seeing a new adventure take place in a brand new region enthralled fans of the series and brought in more players. Along with the new region was a host of new Pokémon to capture, including some evolutions and baby forms to pre-existing creatures....

Pokemon GO completionists are going to have the opportunity to add at least three new Pokedex entries to their collection this month, thanks to the Bug-type themed Field Tasks and Research Breakthrough reward. A new Gen 3 evolution family has arrived in the game, but players won’t be able to find these bugs in the wild. Instead, Pokemon GO players will need to use a combination of Field Research and Breakthrough Reward packages to obtain the Nincada family of Pokemon....

The grind to max level in Pokemon GO is incredibly long and, in some opinions, partially without much reward. The playing field levels out a bit after level 30 and the primary benefit to actually hitting the insane amount of experience needed to ding 40 is being first to gain access to new features that are slowly rolled out to endgame players first. That said, the game’s most hardcore fans still might be in for a return to the XP grind....

Since Pokemon GO added Raid Battles with its latest Gym update developer Niantic has made clear that the experience is a work in progress. The gameplay may be set in stone but how exactly Raid Battles will function is still fluid, and can change at any time. Within this last week, for example, Raid Battle level requirements went from level 35 at launch all the way down to level 5, which made them practically available to anyone....

The latest Nintendo livestream has given gamers a bigger insight into upcoming titles Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. It revealed more of the new region Galar, as well as several new Pokémon. Viewers also discovered some new ways to play the game, including Dynamax mode, which allows your Pokémon to become oversized and overpowered. Finally, we saw glimpses of some new trainers, gym leaders, and helpers as well as the two new legendary Pokémon....

Often overlooked with all of the current Last of Us 2 drama is the other PlayStation exclusive, Ghost of Tsushima. Sucker Punch’s upcoming action game was originally scheduled for release in June, but was bumped a few weeks to make room for Naughty Dog’s latest. While fans continue to wait for more gameplay and other details from the game, Sucker Punch is showing off a few cool items included for pre-ordering the game....

When game developers want their franchise to move in a different direction, they often create reboots. Sometimes reboots transition old mechanics into a new style — sometimes reboots abandon all previous games for a completely new genre. All the reboots on this list stem from incredible, classic games. Sadly, the developers tried and failed to revitalize their franchises—even when those franchises didn’t need to be revitalized. Sometimes developers create disappointing reboots when fans would prefer a traditional sequel....

Herbs are constantly popping up in Red Dead Online, and apart from being necessary for all sorts of crafting, they can also be sold for cash, and in the long term, net you some gold as well. Unlike most items you find through looting enemies or lying about in abandoned properties, regular herbs are not bought by most merchants in the game. Instead, herbs are only purchased by doctors, and this applies to all 43 collectable plants and herbs found throughout the map, with the sole exception of orchids....

While many weapons are entirely situational, some prove to be the best to have for many situations, and players are either confident experts or total fools not to have these in their arsenal....
