On December 25th, 2020, just a week before the end of the year, Disney released Soul, the latest film from Pixar Animation Studios, to the Disney+ streaming service, at no extra cost for subscribers. For the first time, Sony has released sales numbers for their first foray into the VR hardware market, revealing that 915,000 PSVR headsets have been purchased as of February 19th. In comparison, the top competitors to PSVR, the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive are estimated to have sold 243,000 and 420,000 units by the end of last year, respectively....

The theatrical release of the next Pokémon movie in Japan has had its release date postponed due to fears regarding COVID-19. Pocket Monsters the Movie: Coco will be the 23rd Pokémon movie. The story involves a boy who has been raised in the wild. There seems to be an element of time travel involved with the movie, as Celebi is going to be part of the story. Coco will also introduce a new Mythical Pokémon, named Zarude, which will also be coming to Pokémon Sword & Shield in a future update....

The Galarian form of Slowbro was first introduced to Pokémon trainers last week, but one fan predicted what it was going to look like a while ago. The Game Developers Conference is well underway in San Francisco, California today, and as should be expected from an event of its scale, plenty of game-related news has been announced. In what may very well be the gamer-focused highlight of the entire show thus far, Quantic Dream released a short film following a character called Kara. Fans anxiously awaiting the next game from the Heavy Rain developer will have to wait a bit longer though, since Kara is just a tech demo created to test out a new method of capturing an actor’s performance within a video game....
