A new patch for Pillars of Eternity on Nintendo Switch will fix a number of outstanding issues with the game, bringing it in line with the original PC version of the game. Pillars of Eternity is a series of isometric RPGs in the vein of the old Black Isle D&D games, like Baldur’s Gate and Planescape Torment. The PC versions of Pillars of Eternity and its sequel run like a dream, but the same cannot be said for the console ports....

It’s been an interesting month for the incredibly popular player vs player shooter, PlayerUnknown’s Battleground. While developer BlueHole may be a bit upset at Fortnite swooping in on consoles by adding a free to play mode that highly resembles its own game, the title has never been more popular. Even after breaking DOTA 2’s record for most concurrent Steam players, PUBG is getting closer to breaking another major milestone. This past weekend, Steam Charts revealed that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds nearly reached 2 million concurrent players online at a time, coming in at just 1....

In the newest generations of Pokémon, there have been side modes that allow players to interact with their Pokémon in a new way, by playing with them. The two most recent iterations of this mode were Pokémon Refresh, from Sun & Moon, and Pokémon Camp, from Sword & Shield. When it gets down to it, though, which version is superior to the other? In breaking “this is why we can’t have nice things” news, Target has announced it will be suspending sales of the Pokémon Trading Card Game as well as certain sports cards. The announcement comes after reports of violent confrontations among scalpers for the products as their value continues to grow. Social media users first noticed and reported signs in Target’s trading card sections indicating that Pokémon, NFL, MLB, and NBA cards would no longer be in stock beginning on Friday, May 14....

My youngest niece has an aversion to any kind of chicken on the bone. Update: Niantic has now confirmed that during the event, all level 5 Battle Raids will feature Articuno. Niantic has released details about the Pokemon GO Halloween 2020 Event, which will start later this month and features new challenges, research, costumes, and a new Pokemon coming to the AR mobile game. For the first time, Galarian Yamask will make its debut in Pokemon GO, and can be caught through the Halloween-themed special research. Yamask is a fifth generation Pokemon who first appeared in Pokemon Black and White. Yamask is originally a Ghost-type Pokemon, but the Galarian variant changes the Yamask to a Ghost and Ground-type with purple eyes, carrying an ancient clay tablet instead of its usual golden mask....

Pokemon GO players are getting extra lucky this month thanks to the opportunity to enjoy two unique Community Day events. If December 2020 ends up featuring a roundup weekend like the last few years have, then these are likely the final two unique Community Days of the year. Players get started this weekend with a chance to track down Electabuzz and its powerful exclusive move. A Magmar Community Day event will follow up later this month, but for now the focus is all on the Gen 1 Electric-type....

The number of active Pokemon GO players has dipped dramatically since the game launched and over time it has struggled to keep people coming back. The 28th episode of Pokemon Journeys is called “Sobbing Messan,” in Japan, and it will be the anime debut of the Pokemon Sword and Shield starter Sobble (“Messan” is Sobble’s Japanese name). Since Sobble is one of the new Generation 8 starter Pokemon, fans expect it’ll end up caught in this episode, but they’re worried the anime will give it over to Goh instead of Ash. Whenever Ash gets a new traveling companion, they’re generally only starting out as trainers; Goh follows this trend....

With just a little less than a month left to go before the launch of the science fiction first-person shooter Prey, Arkane Studios and Bethesda have decided to announce that a game demo will be available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One a week ahead of its release on April 27. What’s more is that not only will console fans get a chance to give Prey ago before PC players, but also the trial will give them the title’s full first hour....

One of the players who placed last in the Duos portion of the Fortnite World Cup has been surprisingly upbeat about his efforts.
