I watched Raya and the Last Dragon yesterday because I’m an adult and I can do what I want with my own money, dammit! Truth be told, I mainly watched it because I’ve seen all the other Disney Princess movies, and the completionist in me knew my set was now incomplete. I knew basically nothing of the movie aside from the fact that Kelly Marie Tran was in it, so I tuned in expecting an hour and a half of songs, slick animation, and a resolution built around a message of togetherness....

Razer reveals the Acari mouse mat, a new and expensive accessory that it says can support high-level gaming performances. The company has been on a product announcement tear over the last month, revealing the Huntsman Mini keyboard, the Cynosa V2 Membrane keyboard and more. In a press release, Razer announced that the Razer Acari mouse mat is now available, offering an “ultra-low friction” surface that supports the “smoothest mouse gliding.” The surface is made of an oil-repellent nano-bead layer on top with textured rubber backing and a non-slip base....

Red Dead Redemption 2 has remained popular since its release nearly two years ago. Red Dead Redemption 2 recently received a much needed update that added the Naturalist role along with some new missions and a new Outlaw Pass. Now, one fan may have drawn inspiration from the newly added Naturalist role to create an amazing Red Dead custom pendant. The Naturalist role tasks players with hunting or researching rare animals that are hard to find in the Wild West....

Call of Duty: Warzone’s gulag is a box of despair and pain. Waiting for your turn to fight a close-quarters 1-vs-1 battle can seem useless and anxiety-inducing. As Ron Burgundy would say, “I’m in a [concrete] case of emotion!” However, players are finding more ways to maximize their potential while awaiting their fight. Atlus USA is making available an all new trailer for the western localization of Persona 5, which is focused on the Velvet Room and its proprietor Igor. Persona 5 hype dwindled somewhat after the JRPG was launched in Japan this past September, with the game’s most passionate western supporters importing the game. Yet the hype is gaining momentum once more as Persona 5’s worldwide launch on April 4, 2017 gets closer....

Generation VII’s Pokémon Sun & Moon saw players and Ash in the anime heading to a tropical paradise called Alola, based on Hawaii. While the games and series were quite well received, their reputations have grown somewhat polarizing over the years. Ghost-types are often thought of as creepy, but the type is home to plenty of cute critters, as well as some supremely hideous partially living organisms....

Pokemon Go had a few updates during the pandemic as the game evolved to cope with the confines of a global lockdown. The game is all about going outside and catching Pokemon, so much so that in the early days of the phenomenon, people were getting arrested for trespassing, police were having to intervene and disperse large crowds, and the boomers created lots of horrifically unfunny maymays about the Pokemans. While the initial hype died down eventually, the core fanbase was crystalised, with Pokemon Go becoming part of their daily routine....

Niantic’s AR mobile game Pokemon GO has been busy announcing new event details. The Pokemon GO 2020 Halloween event kicks off this week featuring costumed variants of Gengar and Sableye, as well as Galarian Yamask; meanwhile a tie-in partnership with telecommunications company Verizon is starting today. At the same time, Niantic put out a blog post detailing updated egg hatching pools across multiple categories. Hatching Pokemon out of eggs has been a staple of the franchise since Pokemon Gold and Silver in 1999, and carrying eggs that hatch after a certain distance covered has likewise been a part of Pokemon GO’s design since 2016....

Each type in the Pokemon TCG represents one or more types from the video game franchise. Water in the card game comprises all pure Water-types, many dual-types, as well as the same for Ice-types. This gives the whole group a variety of strategies to draw from that can be mixed due to elemental synergy. Needing the same type of energy card for two or three different tactics can really overload one’s opponent and leave them stretched for resources as well as keep them on the defensive....

Isn’t every episode of Power Rangers basically a Halloween episode? I mean there are monsters aplenty and the main characters wear special outfits to hide their identities. Okay well, on the top of all that Power Rangers has had a ton of Halloween episodes over it’s nearly twenty-five year run and we’re here to rank them. Now in putting together this list I quickly realized that some of Power Rangers more famous “Halloween” episodes actually have nothing to do with the holiday....

Arkane Studios president Raphael Colantonio explains that the new Prey game is “not a sequel,” also revealing what sort of gameplay players can expect from the title. When Bethesda’s E3 2016 conference featured the announcement of a new Prey game with a trailer that hinted at psychological twists and (potentially) supernatural dealings, gamers were captivated and enthralled at the possibility of another great game from (Dishonored developer) Arkane Studios. Sony has announced the free PlayStation Plus games for January 2021, and while there are some regional exceptions, fans in most places can look forward to adding Maneater to their PS5 library, as well as GreedFall and Shadow of the Tomb Raider to their collection on PS4. However, PlayStation Plus subscribers in Spain actually have four free games to look forward to starting January 5 in the form of an extra PS4 game....

Sony showcased a slew of impressive-looking games for the PlayStation 5 at its highly-anticipated June event, but now fans are hungry to see more. Sony has yet to reveal exactly when it will be showing off more PlayStation 5 games, but rumors have pointed to a possible PS5 State of Play event taking place as early as August 6. If Sony does host a PS5 event on August 6, or some other day in August, then one has to wonder exactly what it will show....

A group of lucky content creators got their hands on the PS5 for a test-drive in Japan, resulting in praise for the console’s silent cooling system. YouTube Gaming Week has been underway since September 24, with the PS5 preview marking the end of the event. For the segment, over ten Japanese YouTubers and other media were allowed access to Sony’s upcoming console. The PS5’s interface didn’t make an appearance, rather demos for Astro’s Playroom, Balan Wonderworld, Devil May Cry V Special Edition, and Godfall served as the main content....
