With every generation of Pokémon games, fans find their new favorite Pokémon and work towards building a strong roster that can help them become champions. Along the way, they also tend to find their favorite of each type in a given region, as well. When looking at the water-types of each region, starters are the obvious default choice as the favorites, but there are some generations where that isn’t necessarily as clear cut as you’d assume....

Pokemon GO’s first Community Day event was a success, despite the cold weather in some regions, and players are already planning and looking forward to the next special day. Surf Pikachu was the main draw of the first Community Day, but next month Dratini is the main event, which may draw in even more participants. The upcoming Pokemon GO Community Day is slated to take place on Saturday, February 24 and, in addition to the increased sightings of Dratini, players should also be able to stock up on Stardust during the event....

With the surprise announcement of the Pokemon GO Psychic Spectacular event, it sounds like players will have at least one new shiny family to hunt down and add to their collections. The list of shiny monsters is growing rapidly, so it’s been a little hard to keep up for many players. Developer Niantic has acknowledged a new bug with Pokemon GO that affects curved Pokeball throws, more commonly called curveballs, while trying to catch Pokemon. At present, the developer has only cited that it is aware and investigating the bug and there is no timeline for a fix. As the name implies, Pokemon GO’s curveball bug can occur any time a player throws a curveball at a wild Pokemon. Under normal circumstances, a catch after a curveball will award a bonus of 10 XP, but not when the bug triggers....

Niantic’s AR mobile game Pokemon GO will be kicking off its Season of Celebration on December 1. The first batch of monsters from Generation 6’s Kalos Region will be added into Pokemon GO as part of this celebration, and according to dataminers there are already a number of Pokemon X and Y representatives waiting in the game’s code. Seven evolutionary lines were confirmed to be coming to the game starting December 2 in a news release posted by Niantic on November 18: The Chespin, Fennekin, Froakie, Bunnelby, Fletchling, and Litleo lines, as well as Klefki exclusively in France - where the Kalos Region was based....

Gamers familiar with the Overwatch League are likely familiar with Canadian competitive Overwatch player Felix “xQc” Lengyel who played for Dallas Fuel before mutually agreeing to part ways. During a recent match, it appears that xQc may have been swatted, a “prank” where another player calls the police on an opponent, which has resulted in deaths before. However, it is worth mentioning the exact circumstances of the situation are unknown. Prime Gaming’s Crown Channel’s latest program was announced earlier today, providing viewers with a look at the best “hidden gems” on Twitch throughout 2020. The show premieres tonight at 8pm ET and will air a new episode every week until December 30. The four-week show is co-hosted by Erik Griffin – best known as Montez Walker from Workaholics – and Twitch streamer Lisa “iAmLucyMae” Malambri. Each week will see a new cast of Twitch creators step into the spotlight, showing off an “unpredictable mix of the best that Twitch has to offer” across categories such as music, gaming, and cooking....

Everyone’s favorite fox Tails won’t be voiced by his regular voice actress Colleen O’Shaughnessey in the upcoming Sonic Prime animated series. Tails’ Channel found out that O’Shaughnessey posted the news on Twitter as she answered a fan’s question on her involvement. She’s sorry to say that she won’t be returning to the role of Tails in Sonic Prime. No new actress has been announced, as of yet, but Sonic fans are beginning to get nervous....

The Persona series is known for its complex characters and sprawling dungeons, but the bosses of the series are easily the most memorable parts of each game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is an Early Access Game on Steam, but that isn’t stopping it from soaring in popularity. It seems that the fact that the game is technically still in development also isn’t keeping its developers from thinking about what a single-player campaign would look like for the game, which is currently multiplayer-only. While a single-player campaign appears to be a distant goal—with (1) polishing the PC version of the game and completing it then (2) creating a console version of the game taking priority first—Brendan “PLAYERUNKNOWN” Greene is definitely thinking about the possibilities....
