After a number of test polls and some intense internet debating, the voting for the next two Pokemon GO Community Day events took place yesterday and sealed in the lineup for the June and July events. All four Pokemon are pretty popular amongst the trainer community, but there were two clear winners who pulled ahead in the numbers and secured their place in the spotlight this summer. Many fans of the mobile AR game were lobbying for a Weedle Community Day so that a new shiny family could be introduced to the game....

Coming fresh off of the start of its Season of Celebration event and today’s announcement that more Poke Balls are coming to PokeStops this holiday season, Pokemon GO has been on a roll with new content for players and doesn’t seem to be stopping any time soon. Ever since Pokemon: The First Movie debuted in 1998, fans have come to expect the annual release of a Pokemon movie each year, and this year is no different....

Pokemon GO players accomplished every task necessary throughout GO Fest 2020 to unlock all of the August Ultra Rewards. Although there has been some serious Dragon Week drama and a surprising lack of Timed Research during Enigma Week, the festivities are carrying on and it is almost time for the third and final reward week to arrive. Enigma Week only has a few days left and then it is time for Unova Week to take over the mobile AR game....

When people talk about excellence in Pokemon narratives, they usually go right to Pokemon Black & White. I’m not the biggest fan of Unova personally, mostly because I don’t care for the geography of the region, but even I can admit that it was a bold and brilliant step forward in storytelling compared to previous core entries. Note that I said “core entries” there, because I think it’s important to recognize that spin-off games have always had the best narrative structures in the entire Pokemon series, with Mystery Dungeon being its magnum opus....

It’s hard to believe we’re already in the sixth subset of Pokemon TCG expansions in the Sword & Shield series. This is the eighth set I’ve reviewed since Sword & Shield Base Series launched in February 2020, and practically everyone has been better than the one before it. Chilling Reign is a combination of the Japanese sets Silver Lance, Jet Black Spirit, and Peerless Fighters, and is essentially a celebration of Pokemon Sword & Shield’s second expansion DLC, Crown Tundra....

PONG Quest is officially available on the Nintendo Switch. Atari’s updated take on an old favorite gives the two dimensional classic new life, literally. PONG Quest follows a young hero paddle on its mission to complete the King’s quest. The quest takes players through dungeons and faces challenges like puzzles and opposing paddles. Maneuvering through the puzzles will score paddles treasures and secrets of the Orbs, which will ultimately help unlock the mystery of the Spooky Door....

Sony confirms that the PlayStation 4 console has now sold over 30.2 million since its November 2013 launch, demonstrating the “fastest growth in PlayStation history”. Since it launched in November 2013, the Sony PlayStation 4 has had an unprecedented level of sales success, with sales so high that even Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida once saying that he is “a bit nervous” doesn’t “completely understand” why the sales are happening....

Toward the end of July, Microsoft plans to unveil its first-party lineup for Xbox Series X. Games like Halo Infinite and Hellblade 2 will certainly be there, along with whatever surprises Xbox has in store as well. Fans will also get to learn a little bit more about the hardware and what’s in store for Xbox Live as well. But while Xbox prepares its final big information blast this summer, Sony could be making a power move with PlayStation before Xbox’s next conference....

Rainbow Six Siege is still going strong since it first released nearly five years ago in December of 2015. Even with a large community and a constant player base, small Easter eggs are still being discovered by the community. One Rainbow Six Siege player posted something that seems to have been in the game for quite some time, but the community is delighting in it. There are over 50 playable operators in Rainbow Six Siege, and there are more on the way....

Rainbow Six Siege’s newest season, Operation Crimson Heist, is finally here: With it comes a map rework, quite a few interesting balancing changes, and an all-new Attacking Operator: Flores. Flores is one of the most unique Operators in Siege so far, with a very interesting gadget capable of replacing the necessity for bringing a Thatcher, while still bringing familiar weaponry, unlike Kali. Flores originates from Argentina, and is also the first openly gay Operator in Rainbow Six Siege....

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has brought the controversy over Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando’s Angela to the surface again. This all stems from the fact she looks suspiciously like a lombax - how exactly does that work when the PS3 era ushered in this notion of Ratchet being the last of his species? A Crack in Time had cut dialogue indicating Angela was indeed a lombax, with her being referenced on the radio with a tidbit about how females of Ratchet’s species don’t have tails (just as Angela does not), explaining the discrepancies, but Rift Apart puts forward new ideas that mean she’s a different species… again....

Red Dead Online makes sure that there’s more to the Online mode than just a beautiful open world. Rockstar Games added roles to Red Dead Online to give players ways to earn quick cash, gold, and XP. On top of that, each role has some really fun missions to take part in. The Collector is a role that stands out from the bunch. It requires traveling to different places and scouting high and low for rare precious collectibles....

There is a new Half-Life 2 mod on the horizon - one that lets you explore Jurassic Park pretty much in its entirety. Jurassic Life is an entirely fan-made project led by a modest but super driven group of modders, who have spent an unbelievable number of years carefully recreating (and reinventing) the classic Jurassic Park world using the Source engine. The development process can be traced back all the way to 2006, but since then the team had to “put the project on ice” for a few years....
