Niantic’s phased rollout of Gen 3 monsters into Pokemon GO seems to have been a winning approach so far. The small bursts of new creatures to collect helps players to avoid being overwhelmed by new tasks to tackle and also offers motivation to return to the game month after month, even in the middle of winter. One of the few downsides of the approach is that it can be a little difficult to keep track of which monsters are currently available in Pokemon GO....

Pokemon GO was once the game that everyone was talking about but the mobile title has certainly dipped in popularity since its summer 2016 launch. Many players have drifted away from the game but developer Niantic has now launched a new effort to bring those lapsed Pokemon GO players back into the fold. Pokemon GO players who haven’t been playing the game regularly say that Niantic is now sending them emails promising major rewards in an effort to entice them....

The backlash following Niantic’s proposed post-pandemic changes to Pokemon Go has been so fierce, the company’s senior marketing manager has deleted their Twitter account. Niantic announced this week that as the world tries to return to normal, some of the features it introduced to Pokemon Go during the pandemic will be rolled back. Most notably the expanded radiuses of Pokestops and Gyms which has allowed trainers to access them from further away....

Prey is the fifth installment in the Predator franchise (and seventh if you count the two Alien vs. Predator films). It’s also easily the third best in the series by default, following the original Predator and 2010’s underrated Predators. The bar is, admittedly, fairly low for this series, which is marked by pretty unwatchable entries like Shane Black’s 2018 The Predator and 1990’s Predator 2 (although some Den of Geek staff keep threatening to write a re-appreciation of the latter)....

Bethesda’s released another trailer for Prey, the upcoming sci-fi action-shooter from Arkane Studios. In “A Guided Tour of Talos I” viewers are given a proper introduction to the setting of Prey, Talos I, a mysterious space station that has seen better days – so to speak. Protagonist Morgan Yu arrives at Talos I in the wake of a “wave” of what Arkane describes as an outbreak. Thoroughly exploring Talos I in-game will be the only way to uproot its secrets....

The global version of Princess Connect! Re:Dive will soon be hosting its very first in-game event where players can collect rewards, earn treasure boxes with valuable items, and complete missions. Earn memory shards to unlock the game’s main star Hatsune so she can be added to the roster. Follow the story of this pink-haired bubbly caster as she works to find the best present for her beloved sister Shiori. Whether things go smoothly or end up in chaos is yet to be known, but it will surely be fun either way....

Over the better part of the past year, I’ve managed to steadily become one of TheGamer’s de facto go-to reviewers when it comes to racing tiles. From hyper-realistic racers such as Tour De France 2020 and TT Isle Of Man - Ride On The Edge 2 to more casual or silly racing titles such as Wreckfest and Tiny Racer, I’ve managed to position myself back into loving the genre that I played so much as a kid....

Ubisoft is now allowing fans to purchase the Year 2 Season Pass for Rainbow Six Siege, which will include 8 new operators, several cosmetic items, and other bonuses. Ubisoft had only confirmed that Rainbow Six Siege would be getting a second season of DLC two weeks ago, but the studio certainly isn’t waiting until the new year to get the ball rolling: as of today, fans of the series can now purchase the Year 2 Season Pass ahead of time for $30....

Red Bull is set to host a “simplified” League of Legends World Championship Grand Final live stream made for newcomers to the game. The stream, described as “the perfect way for casual fans and newcomers to get involved,” will be broadcasted on the company’s Twitch and YouTube channels. The 2020 League of Legends Worlds Final will take place on October 31st in Shanghai, China. Launching in 2009, Riot Games’ League of Legends quickly became one of the most popular online multiplayer games in the world....

Gathering cash is obviously an important part of life in the world of Red Dead Redemption 2. How else can you buy guns, ammo, and horses? Players can earn (or steal) money in a wide variety of ways, from robbing trains to playing cards and everything in between. Some of these activities are seriously fun! But others are a grind. Getting across Red Dead Redemption 2 can feel like hard work. The game features the largest map ever created by developer Rockstar Games and it will take players an estimated 16 minutes (in real-time) in order to get across it. While players can take the train to get around, there are plenty of scenarios when a horse is the only available or appropriate form of transport. And, even if players have the very best horse in the game, it’s still going to take players a long time and a lot of button-mashing to get to where they’re going....

Whenever I think of any piece of Mars-related media, it usually involves us heading there in hopes of terraforming the planet and creating a new colony. Yet, these stories typically involve horrible monsters and evil Martians hiding underneath the surface that begin killing as many humans as possible. I’m sure that’s not the case in reality, but I’ll be damned if science fiction hasn’t painted the red planet as a glorified death trap in just about every book, film, or video game....

Knockout City is the dodgeball game that everyone is loving. Well, liking, at the very least. The game is available as part of a free trial on many platforms, but if you want to make the most of the game, you’ll need to pay out for the Deluxe Edition. Still, this unique take on third-person competitive game modes is very intriguing and engaging, exactly the kind of thing we like to see....

Rumours have been floating around for a while, but now it’s official: Omen is real, except it’s actually going to be called Redfall. Redfall is a vampire-themed immersive shooter, and is set to come to Xbox and PC at some point in 2022. It will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass. You can watch the reveal trailer below. For a reveal trailer, it was surprisingly long. The four-minute cinematic introduced us to a team of survivors, taking out vampires as they roam the night....

Update: Reggie has a message for Nintendo fans. Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America President, is retiring, and Doug Bowser (no relation) will be taking his place. Reggie has been with Nintendo for 15 years, and spent 13 of those years as President and COO of Nintendo of America. His official last day will be April 15th, two months before E3. It seems unlikely that Reggie will make an appearance at the video games trade show that turned him from a corporate executive into a living meme and geek celebrity....

Persona 5 was a momentous JRPG, not just for its own franchise, but the genre as a whole. The shear style of the game and its character stories helped sell players on the niche turn-based combat and mechanics. That being said, it’s the Persona game that spent the most time in development for a number of reasons. Now the next game is presumably in development with Atlus and P-Studio, and with the huge success of Persona 5, the scale and scope of the next Persona game could be even bigger....
