Since Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin (R) stated that violent video games were partly responsible for mass shootings, the gaming industry has once again been placed under political and public scrutiny. Considering video game violence has been discussed in correlation with mass shootings ever since the Columbine massacre in 1999, this should be no surprise. Nevertheless, it may be surprising to some that President Trump is set to meet with the heads of the industry next week....

Before moving on to direct the Demon’s Souls remake, SIE Worldwide Studios’ Gavin Moore pioneered the now cult classic title Puppeteer for the PS3. However, while responding to some fans familiar with the eight-year old game, Moore has let it be known how he would like to approach his older classic, in a different direction than the remake of the PS3’s Demon’s Souls. This acknowledgement of Puppeteer came after a fan responded to Moore’s New Year wishes on Twitter, who asked to see the PS3 classic get either a remaster, if not the full Bluepoint remake treatment....

Things just haven’t gone well for Quibi, the little streaming platform that couldn’t. Founder Jeffrey Katzenberg is reportedly looking into potentially selling the service following a lackluster 6 months of generally low subscription numbers since its launch. According to The Wall Street Journal, insider sources have suggested that Quibi is considering the sale, along with other options to deal with its relatively unsuccessful run. The Red Dead Online Beta has been running for a week now, and many players are already rushing to the multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2 to try it out. Although Rockstar Games mentioned at the start of the Red Dead Online Beta in November that it could not guarantee that player progress and stats will not be wiped after the Beta ends, players will be happy to know that Rockstar has now confirmed that players will in fact be able to keep their progress made during the Beta....

Aspyr’s port of the 2003 BioWare classic RPG Jade Empire is expected to launch on iOS soon, but, due to some confusion, no one is exactly sure when that will be. Plenty of evidence is pointing to an imminent release of Jade Empire for iOS, but nothing concrete has been confirmed by any official sources. Aspyr, the company that brought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy to the iOS, has completed their port of Jade Empire, which was confirmed by Touch Arcade who had some hands-on time with the game....
