He’s a fantastic footballer, and has been for two decades, but it’s hard to point to anyone else who is as consistently and stupidly combative. He once told Dutch midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart, “I’ll break your legs and cut off your fucking head” after the latter accused him of intentionally injuring him, and has made a habit out of regularly kicking his teammates....

One of the most interesting Xbox One exclusive game reveals was the latest offering from developer Remedy Entertainment, Quantum Break. Known for developing two cult-favorite franchises, Max Payne and Alan Wake (along with top-down racing/shooter Death Rally), speculation on the studio’s next project had kept the rumor mill turning for months - until Quantum Break was officially announced at the Xbox One reveal event. Not long after, fans got their first look at actual (albeit brief) gameplay from the title during the Microsoft 2012 E3 Media Briefing - showing an impressive marriage of cinematic storytelling/presentation and next-generation in-game footage....

GameStop was once a force in the industry, especially last generation when digital games weren’t quite as popular, and the used game market was thriving so much that video game publishers made efforts to stop it (like with the dreaded online pass). Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal is widely considered to be one of the best JRPGs (and RPGs as a whole) of all time. As of this year, Persona 5 Royal is still in the top 10 for best RPGs of all time according to Metacritic scores. PlayerUnknown’s promise that PUBG Corp. would be bringing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ next map to test servers as soon as could be managed has come to fruition. The online multiplayer shooter’s social media accounts revealed today that the game’s highly anticipated 4x4-kilometer map, 1/4 the size of a standard map, will have a closed test starting next week. Codenamed “Savage,” the smaller PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds map will only be available for a limited time....

In early November, Sony released the PlayStation 5. This coveted system brings with it a handful of innovations and features that make gaming more accessible in addition to next-generation games. One of these new features is the option to share your screen with players in a Voice Chat quickly. Once players get the hang of this system, they’ll be able to broadcast their gameplay to their friends with ease. With just a few button presses, any member of the party can watch what their friends are doing when this feature is active....

Sony has released a somewhat surprising “teardown” video that sees Yasuhiro Ootori, VP of mechanical design at Sony Interactive Entertainment, completely disassemble the PS5 to show how its hardware and other basic functions work. While the video was clearly meant to serve as a fun little piece of “Did You Know?” entertainment, it actually does reveal a couple of potentially noteworthy things about the console. For instance, it seems that the process of converting a PS5 from horizontal to vertical will be a little more complicated than previously anticipated....

Predator: Hunting Grounds has managed to win over many fans despite issues with the matchmaking in the title. The game allows players to either play as marines or as a Predator as they do a variety of quests and kill non-playable guards. Naturally for those who are playing as a marine, a huge part of the fun is killing the Predator and while many think it is best to run away from a self-destructing predator, players can earn a huge amount of XP by diffusing this sequence....

Relative to the Hunter and Berserker classes, the Scout has a low health pool and can be cut down quickly with a few well-placed shots....

A key selling point behind the PS5 is the inclusion of the SSD that powers the system’s high speed processing that is expected to eliminate loadtimes in Next-Gen gaming. However, this SSD and the increased loading power do come with downsides, most notably among them that players can’t play games off of a USB device connected to the PS5 the way they can on the PS4. Rockstar recently made Red Dead Online into a much grindier game with its recent update. A player managed to get 1000 gold bars despite the nerf on the daily challenges and now has nothing to purchase with the vastly accumulated gold. The Bounty Hunters Update released a bunch of fresh additions to the game and the new Pass and changes that were made to the Daily Challenges got veteran and hardcore players mad....

Red Dead Redemption 2 was a huge hit upon release and many were impressed with the prequel to the original game which was released 8 years earlier. While many have enjoyed the longevity of Red Dead Redemption 2 and its frequent updates which have kept it an entertaining title since its release, some want to see additional DLC. A petition has been started to get a single-player DLC for players who enjoyed the long campaign in the game but not the online gameplay....

Today is Dragon Age 2’s tenth anniversary, and I have always thought of it as a game built around the Qunari - a large, horned race of invaders who occupy the city until the valuable book stolen from them is returned. Though the game is ostensibly about the Mages vs the Templars, much of the tension throughout Act 1 and especially Act 2 is driven by the Qunari’s presence in Kirkwall....
