The latest update around Sony’s postponement of the PlayStation 5 reveal is that we may be looking at a reveal date pushed back by several weeks still. Sony had decided to postpone the highly-anticipated next-gen console’s official reveal event - meant to be going down tonight - in light of the current unrest making waves throughout the world. Their decision was a hugely necessary one, and as they rightly put it in their official statement from a few days ago, now isn’t the right time for a celebration to be held, and that more important voices need to take center stage for the time being rather....

Sony announced this morning that its PlayStation Now streaming service would begin offering 1080p game streaming in select countries this week. You may be surprised to learn that the service didn’t already offer that (I know I am), but it does make sense. Not many households in the United States have fast enough internet to support anything over 720p, let alone 1080p. Most competing services don’t even offer it, including Microsoft’s own xCloud service....

PlayStation is to sunset its collection of free games for PlayStation 5. The PlayStation Plus Collection was launched with the console in November 2020 and offered a selection of top-notch PS4 games to PS Plus members to get them up and running with their new machines. They were ideal to bolster the game lineup until the best PS5 games turned up. It originally offered 20 games, some with enhancements such as higher frame rates when run on a PS5, and now lists 19 titles that you can download and play....

In late 2002 and early 2003, the third generation games of Pokémon arrived on the Game Boy Advance titled Ruby and Sapphire. It’s no secret that Pokemon GO Fest was something of a disaster. The Terminator is back, but this time, as a Netflix animated series. No details about the plot have been revealed as of yet, but according to the tweet by Netflix’s NX handle, the show will be based in the Terminator universe. Mattson Tomlin will serve as the showrunner and executive producer, and it will be produced by Japanese anime studio, Production I.G. Tomlin’s most recent work includes the Netflix original film, Project Power....

Both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X are expected to launch near the end of 2020 and people could not be more excited. When the PS5 DualSense was revealed, one of its more intriguing features was the inclusion of haptic feedback. Ubisoft is reversing changes done in recent Rainbow Six: Siege updates that players say “censored” the game. Earlier this month, Ubisoft announced they would be making several drastic changes to Rainbow Six: Siege in order for them to expand into Asian markets. The planned changes were to better adhere to local regulations that prohibit things like excessive gore, religious symbols, or drugs. This meant that vast swaths of the game’s aesthetic had to be rebuilt, changing graffiti to no longer include things like skeletons, and removing slot machines and drug paraphernalia from certain maps....

Since launching nearly five years ago in late 2015, Rainbow Six: Seige has seen continued success. Seige saw its player count rise even much after the release, and fans all over the world have enjoyed the tactical team-based FPS. The game also has a large footprint in the competitive gaming world, and a new announcement points to that reality. During the Ubisoft Forward event today, it was announced that there will be a World Cup for Rainbow: Six Seige in the Summer of 2021....
