The German arm of the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) has today criticized Far Cry 5 for including fishing in the title, despite the more graphic violence the game allows. The game itself, of course, allows for a great amount of player freedom, and in some cases encourages the player to kill a variety of the game’s wildlife. In the statement, which goes on to explain how fish are more intelligent than apes in some tests, PETA openly appeals to Ubisoft GmbH to commit to removing the feature in the future....

Fez creator Phil Fish is back in the news, and this time it isn’t because he’s pissed off the Internet. Unless, of course, the announcement of Fez 2 would get anyone all hot and/or bothered, because that’s exactly what has happened. In a teaser with enough ominous slow-burn and build-up to make Stanley Kubrick proud, which is impressive considering the clip is only 48 seconds long, Fish and the folks at Polytron - which is essentially Fish and one other person - have revealed that a follow-up to the perspective-twisting platformer is indeed on its way....

The executive VP of gaming at Microsoft, Phil Spencer, believes that the next-gen war will “not be a reflection of demand – it’ll be a reflection of supply,” adding that he refuses to declare “a winner and… a loser” between sales of Xbox X/S and PS5. The exec also believes initial sales of Xbox Series X/S and PS5 won’t reflect their popularity but will simply indicate which company can keep up with demand after launch....
