Among the additions to Modern Warfare’s new season is the AN-94, an assault rifle that’s made numerous appearances in the Call of Duty franchise. For those looking for a top-tier AN-94 loadout, Call of Duty pro Octane has a solution. The AN-94 is in the first half of the Modern Warfare and Warzone Season 5 battle pass, unlocking on tier 31, but it will still require a bit of grinding to earn....

We’re all spending more time in front of videoconferencing gear than ever before, whether that’s something official from the likes of Cisco or something more home-made - like a Logitech webcam. Now the company that makes those webcams wants to do it all properly. The result is what Logitech is calling Project Ghost - a booth of sorts that has a big comfy chair for you to sit on while talking to the person at the other end of the call....

PSG Talon, a Hong Kong team formed in partnership between Talon Esports and French football club Paris Saint-Germain, has announced that it will field two substitute players in the 2020 League of Legends World Championship play-in stage as a result of “travel restrictions and visa requirements.” According to PSG Talon, jungler Kim “River” Dong-woo and mid-laner Park “Tank” Dan-won won’t participate in the play-in stage since they are currently under quarantine in Shanghai....

Last year, developer Quantic Dream surprised the world by releasing its Sony exclusive titles on PC. Partnering with Epic, the games were given a one-year exclusivity on the Epic Games Store before they were able to head to other digital distribution platforms. The timer on that deal is almost up. Anyone with an interest in Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human will be able to enjoy them on Steam starting June 18, 2020....

Prepare for a bank heist in Rainbow Six Siege’s Grand Larceny Event. There ain’t nothing quite like a bank robbery, as games like Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto can attest. In the latest event to arrive in Rainbow Six Siege, you take the role of an old-fashioned gang planning a heist on a rival group. The centerpiece of the new event is the Stolen Goods game mode, a 5v5 match on the old Hereford map....

As one of the most successful PC gaming franchises of all time, The Sims is a series that has outshone its expectations by leaps and bounds. Originally released in 2000 by EA Games, this series has grown exponentially over almost two decades to be one of the highest-selling gaming franchises of all time. At this point in time, The Sims has spawned four sequels and a whole host of expansion packs, and yet another sequel, The Sims 5, is an upcoming release that is highly rumored to be VR compatible....

There’s a new Warzone map out today, and it’s tiny! Whereas Verdansk is all about 200-player mayhem across an enormous area, Rebirth Island is just a teeny tiny island where 40 players duke it out. The island is a combination prison slash chemical and biological weapons factory. Presumably, the prisoners were the ones working on the dangerous weapons so when they screwed up it didn’t actually kill any of the scientists–and that’s the best-case scenario....

Take-Two Interactive president Karl Slatoff and several Chief Financial Officers gave a rare insight into Take-Two’s company business model as well as commented on the current state of DLC and subscription models for gaming at the Cowan and Company 46th Annual Technology, Media, & Telecom Conference. The company officials clued games to the inner-workings of one of the most silent, mysterious, and prolific publishers in the business. Perhaps the most pertinent comment was directed towards the traditional DLC model, which Slatoff believes can still be effective, despite the recent uptick in “Online” or subscription-based services....

Though Red Dead Redemption 2 places players back in the familiar world of its predecessor, much has changed this time around. Outside of the new protagonist and storyline following Dutch’s Gang, many gameplay elements have evolved as well, including the addition more realistic moments like needing to bathe, keeping Arthur’s horse groomed and fed, keeping many of the various weapons clean, and more. Players also now have three meters to manage as well, from Health and Stamina, to the famed Dead Eye ability....

Reebok will soon be releasing a limited time brand of shoes called USMC Bug Stomper Shoes, based around the Alien franchise, and the 1986 movie Aliens specifically. The shoes will be released for Alien Day on April 26th, (written as 4/26 in the United States) a reference to the moon Acheron, or LV-426, which was the setting for Aliens. Reebok has a fairly long history with the Alien franchise, creating futuristic-looking shoes for the main character, Ellen Ripley, to wear in Aliens....

Remnant: From the Ashes, the third-person souls-like shooter from Gunfire Games, released to a warm reception in 2019. While the game was praised for its snappy shooting and full co-op, critics were less impressed by the so-so story and buggy systems. Now Remnant: From the Ashes may be about to receive a second lease of life, as it’s free on the Epic Store for the next week. While the Soulsborne games have never embraced true campaign co-op, a lot of the titles they inspired have....

Perfect Dark made its triumphant return during a surprise announcement at The Game Awards 2020. There are still so many rumors and theories about The Initavite’s Perfect Dark, but one thing is certain, the game has been a long time coming. Between being a cult-classic on the Nintendo 64, a game that saw a transition onto the Xbox 360, and a first-person shooter that went on an extremely long hiatus, many wondered if Perfect Dark would ever see the light of day again....

The Shin Megami Tensei series is pretty popular on its own, but over here in the States (and a lot of the western world), the spin-off series Persona has seen much more prevailing popularity than a lot of the main series games. Persona is well-known for incorporating a lot of characters from various world mythologies, as can be seen in the Tarot system that exists as a categorization for companions in the game....

One of the most important things about making a game franchise a success is figuring out the formula. Even if the franchise sees a lot of settings and unique storylines, the traditions and core structure of the games are what’ll make players keep coming back. Once that structure is nailed down, the developers can add new things and look for chances to be creative. Persona is one franchise that’s nailed that down....

Phil Spencer, the executive vice president of gaming at Microsoft, was interviewed in a podcast episode of Decoder with Nilay Patel to discuss the launch of the new console. In the interview he shed some light on the delay of Halo Infinite. The latest installment of the Halo franchise was slated to release as a launch title with the Xbox Series X/S. 343 Industries announced a delay until 2021 to ensure that the team is able to deliver a game that meets their vision....

On September 9 at 4 p.m. EST, PlayStation will host a special showcase event that some are already calling the company’s long-awaited E3 “makeup show.” While Sony is obviously stopping short of referring to it as such, the consensus seems to be that this will end up being the PlayStation team’s biggest event of the year. That being the case, predictions for this show are running a bit wild at the moment....

The first time that Game Freak decided to reboot a series of Pokémon games came in the form of FireRed & LeafGreen, remakes of the original Generation I Kanto games. These remakes saw an updated Pokédex, the addition of mechanics that had been introduced in generations II and III, and an expanded world. There are a ton of new things to explore in the Kanto region and the new Sevii Islands, so it’s probable that there are a few things you missed....

The Pokémon anime introduced the world to a hard-headed but determined 10-year-old named Ash Ketchum from Palette Town. His goal was to become the greatest Pokémon trainer the world has ever seen by becoming Pokémon Champion and catching every single Pokémon. Along his journey, he met and befriended several people.
