While not everyone can have the sort of reflexes possessed by a Pinball Wizard, everyone can now experience the thrills of pinball mastery thanks to a new board game. Coming out at the end of this month, Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade from Wizkids distills the analog-meets-video-game joy of classic pinball machines into a tabletop version. Designed for one to four players, Super-Skill Pinball: 4-Cade contains four different pinball games. Each unique “table” comes with its own distinct pinball table board and matching pinball backglass board that corresponds to the specific pinball tables’ designs: Carniball, Cyberhack, Dance Fever!...

Now that Resident Evil 3’s remake has been released to mostly positive reviews, it has coincided with that of the asymmetric multiplayer Resident Evil title, Resident Evil Resistance. Overall, the reaction to Resistance hasn’t been quite as positive as that to Resident Evil 3’s remake. Resident Evil Resistance takes on the base mechanic of other asymmetric multiplayer games in that it pits one player against four others. While the ratio is lopsided, the player that operates alone will often be in control of a more powerful character to even the playing field....

Since it launched back in November 2013, the Sony PlayStation 4 has experienced phenomenal sales success. Although the Microsoft Xbox One has beaten it in North America a handful of times (most recently in April) the PS4 has reigned supreme in the region, while in the UK the PS4 has become the fastest selling games console in British history. The PS4 has also done well in most of Asia, but less so Sony’s home country of Japan, where it has constantly been outpaced by local rival Nintendo....

There’s never been a better time to be a trophy hunter as PlayStation has updated its Sony Rewards system to allow gamers to cash in their hard-earned achievements for spendable currency. This new addition to the popular rewards scheme will likely see more players going for 100% completion in their games in order to earn a little extra cash. Not many people truly understand how important user interfaces are to games, websites, and computer software. Even with their incredibly passionate fanbase, Pokémon often suffers from poorly designed interfaces. Pokemon GO has added dozens of new features since its launch in the summer of 2016. Over the years there has been a multitude of promo codes in Pokemon GO that players can use to get special items. These items range from helpful battle items to exclusive cosmetics that players can use on their player avatar in-game. As time passes, different promo codes become active and inactive, meaning that Pokemon GO players can’t just use any code at any time they want. Codes that may have been available back in January may not be usable in March or other months....

Niantic’s AR mobile game Pokemon GO has been working through the box art Legendaries of the Unova Region, first Reshiram and most recently featuring five-star Raids for Zekrom. Next up is Kyurem, who will officially arrive in the game starting July 7, 2020, at 1:00 pm PDT according to a news update by Niantic today. Kyurem in its base form is perhaps less well known to the general populace due to having a subdued role in Pokemon Black and White....

Pokemon GO has begun hinting at the appearance of the cotton-candy horse Pokemon, Galarian Ponyta, via its official Twitter account. As shown across several posts, Professor Willow has apparently spotted a mysterious Pokemon that he can’t seem to capture a distinct picture of. Ponyta and Rapidash have both been in Pokemon GO since the game’s release, with their Shiny forms also making it into the game later. Now that Pokemon Sword and Shield have been out for some time, it seems that Niantic is finally ready to commit to more Galarian form introductions....

The Big House, a fall Smash Brothers event series, had to cancel its 2020 event today after receiving a cease and desist letter from Nintendo Of America. Meaning neither Smash Brothers Melee nor Smash Brothers Ultimate tournaments will go forward at this point. Nintendo’s reason for halting the event’s progress is due to the usage of Slippi, an online module for the Dolphin emulator, by Big House. Organizers recently learned they no longer have permission to broadcast the event on twitch, effectively killing any competitions before they could begin....

Despite rumors to the contrary, console gaming is currently alive and well. Although the long term prospects for consoles are still murky, with PlayStation president Shuhei Yoshida even suggesting that console gaming is a constant struggle against obsolescence, in the short term PS4 or Xbox One gamers have some encouraging signs to look towards. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s sales figures, for instance, indicate that console gaming can go toe-to-toe with the PC market and come out ahead in some high profile cases....

Sony has begun beta testing for PS4 update 7.0, which is set to be the next major upgrade for the system and perhaps the last one before the PS5 releases next year. Beta participants should receive an invite in the next few details, allowing them to test out the update’s new features and give feedback. Among the marquee features for PS4 update 7.0 is a boost to the system’s party chat limit from 8 players to 16....
