The Pokémon Company announces that they’ve struck a deal with Build-A-Bear Workshop that will give fans the opportunity to build their own Pikachu plush in 2016. The Pokémon franchise just won’t quit. Far from satisfied with its dominance of the handheld video game market, the adorable Japanese critters have begun to invade even the most sacred American locations, and now The Pokémon Company has set its sights on the lucrative build-your-own plush toy market as well....

With the new console generation in full swing, many are looking forward to an intriguing new title called Kena: Bridge of Spirits. More of the game was shown off at the recent PlayStation State of Play, reigniting players’ anticipation for it. Now that Kena: Bridge of Spirits is available for pre-order, it looks like the game will be less expensive than some originally thought. Pokémon emerged over 20 years ago. With routine installments, multiple versions, and remasters, the series has seen plenty of features and mechanics. Not every mechanic remains though. Many have been removed – some beloved and some hated. Bringing some of these features back would serve the series well, as they alleviate problems that have plagued the series. Some are simply fun. Others should remain gone, banished to the dumpster of abandoned mechanics....

Whichever way you slice it, Pokémon is one of the hottest properties in the industry. From the mainline RPG series to the countless spin-offs (not to mention the popular Pokémon TCG), this series is just an absolute goldmine. Does it have its flaws, though? Absolutely. Though Pokémon Sword & Shield brought us some nice quality of life advancements (the ability to access your Pokémon boxes right from the menu screen and move relearner/nickname rater in Pokémon Centers, for instance), there’s still a lot that could be done to update some elements of the series....

Ever since Generation III, all Pokémon have had their own ability that can help or hinder it in battle, as well as have effects outside of battle. The ability is most often related to the Pokémon’s lore, biology, or personality, such as Charjabug’s Battery ability or Delphox’s Magician. Some abilities, however clever their storytelling properties may be, are not beneficial in battle. With abilities that prevent the player from doing what they want to do, or abilities that downright hinder a Pokémon, there are enough bad abilities out there to make a list....

Pokemon has announced its Diamond and Pearl remakes will be here by November and Legends: Arceus will follow two months later. Pokemon GO player discovers a huge security risk for Apple users who sign into the app through their Google account, which allows the app access to all Google account services. While registering on Pokemon.com has been temporarily suspended due to the massive demand, Pokemon GO players are still able to login through their Google account. Unfortunately, if a player is signing in through their Google account through iOS, they may be putting their account’s security at risk....

After a few months of stagnant Research Breakthrough Rewards, Pokemon GO players are going to be very excited to hear that a new rotation is arriving starting on July 1. Although Latias and Latios will still be in the mix, the other two options are much more exciting than the current rotation for a lot of trainers. In addition to Latios and Latias, Pokemon GO trainers will also be able to earn Research Breakthrough Reward encounters with Kyogre and Groudon....

On March 9, Cleo Hernandez posted a written statement on Twitter detailing instances of graphic sexual abuse by former partner and professional Valorant player Jay “Sinatraa” Won. There is also an imbedded audio clip in the document that Hernandez claims is a recording of Won repeatedly denying Hernandez’ requests to stop during sexual intercourse. Shortly after these allegations were discovered, Valorant developer Riot Games issued a statement through its official Valorant Champions Tour NA Twitter account stating that Riot would be suspending Sinatraa from participating in any competitive events barring an investigation into the allegations....

Last month, Sony added Marvel’s Spider-Man to the PlayStation Now, which is the PS4’s streaming service that allows players to play a huge library of games for a monthly subscription fee. It is worth noting that Spider-Man won’t be a permanent title on the PS Now, given that it will be leaving the service in July. Now, there are unconfirmed reports that Marvel’s Spider-Man could be headlining next month’s roster of free PS Plus games....

Since the release of the PlayStation 4 in 2013, PS4 party chat has supported a maximum of eight players at once. While this has likely been sufficient for many players, there are certainly others that would love to see this maximum PS4 party chat limit raised. Fortunately for these Sony fans, a new PS4 party feature, which will be available first through a preview program, looks to do just that....

The sales figures for November are in and the PS5 sold over seven times what the Xbox Series S/X did in the same time period in Japan. Microsoft has its sights set on Japan this generation, but it has an uphill struggle ahead of it. Japan has always favored its homegrown companies when it comes to the home console market, with Nintendo and Sony dominating the sales charts in the region....

People briefed on the plans have revealed a firmware update scheduled for the summer will allow PS5 owners to add more storage space to their consoles. As soon as people started to realize the PS5’s outer shell can be removed relatively easily, the assumption was made that they would be able to add additional storage. However, once the console launched, it quickly became clear that couldn’t be done. At least not yet....

Some gamers in Ireland are reporting that their PS5s have been showing up, two days ahead of the console’s official launch in Europe. For many parts of the world, PS5 release day has been and gone. However, other countries have to wait until this Thursday. Europe, for instance. The creepy 3D platformer, Pumpkin Jack is set to launch just in time for Halloween. And the brand new official launch trailer shows off new footage of its haunting gameplay. Pumpkin Jack is headed to PC on October 23, 2020. Described by some as a modern take on MediEveil, the game sees a pumpkin-headed “Jack” leaping through various horrifying levels with acrobatic movement as he explores a cursed world. Jack also builds up an arsenal of weaponry that he uses to take down undead and damned creatures of abundant verity....
