Sony recently showed of the PS5’s revamped trophy system and UI, but it appears that there’s a lot more to it than we originally thought. It seems that the next-gen system will reward you with exclusive digital content for unlocking certain trophies – including new avatar images and profile banners. The info was revealed by MP1st, which posted an image of the trophy screen for Destruction AllStars. One image shows off the Gold Trophy, Wreckognised, which mentions the term “Profile Avatar” after giving a brief description of how to unlock the trophy....

In a somewhat strange move, it seems that the PS5 will make the “X” button the standard selection input across all regions. This information originates from Japanese media outlets who have had the chance to preview the PS5’s UI and other features. Their reports find that the “X” button is now used for any confirmation or selection inputs on the PS5. While that may not sound like much of a story to any Western PlayStation gamers who have been using that button to confirm selections for years now, it comes as quite a shock to Japanese gamers who have used the “O” button for confirmation inputs since the launch of the original PlayStation....

As it turns out, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has more to offer players this week than PUBG’s previously-announced next-gen upgrades. PUBG Corporation has revealed that a new update for Season 9, update 9.2, is now available for players to try out on the game’s test server, and it brings with it a lot of new content. The Xbox Series X and S are only about a month away from arriving on store shelves, and Microsoft seems intent on making the transition a simple one for Xbox One players. Fellow black-and-green hardware partner Razer announced today that several of its Xbox One accessories, including headsets like the Nari and Thresher, will work without issue with the upcoming systems. The news follows word from Microsoft itself that its own line of Xbox controllers would be forward compatible with the Xbox Series X and S and backward compatible with the Xbox One, making it so anyone with an Xbox gamepad from 2013 onward can keep their existing gear for the new systems....
