As many Red Dead Redemption 2 fans are likely aware, the beta period for the open world western’s multiplayer component, Red Dead Online, has officially begun today. Those who own RDR2’s Ultimate Edition are being given access first, with the beta’s availability then being gradually opened up to larger player numbers throughout the rest of this week. So, to get everyone prepared for the content to come in Red Dead Online, Rockstar Games has decided to confirm the modes available at launch that will be part of a larger series of activities called “Showdowns”....

A new update for Red Dead Online has arrived, and it brings some additional wildlife for players to face in the online multiplayer experience. An update earlier this September added the Legendary Shadow Buck, and this new update introduces two new Legendary animals for players to encounter in the wilds. The game continues to expand on the rivalry between Harriet and Gus as part of the new Naturalist role added this past August....

One Redditor with a lot of time on their hands discovered the entire drop rate for the Digging Duo in Pokémon Sword & Shield. As their name implies, there are two Digging Duo brothers, with one focused on stamina at the cost of rewards and the other focused on rewards at the cost of stamina. Most just go with the more reward-focused brother as he has a better chance of providing you with rare stuff like fossils, evolution stones, and other neat stuff....

When Persona 5: The Animation released in first aired in 2018, many Persona fans were disappointed that there was no way to experience the adaptation with an English dub. Developer Atlus’s games have been universally praised for their memorable English voice casts that, until Persona 5’s western released in April 2017, could not be switched out for the Japanese voice over unless the game lacked an English dub altogether. Thankfully at this year’s Anime Expo Lite anime distributor Aniplex announced that it would be releasing a dub for Persona 5: The Animation which, starting today, can finally be streamed on Funimation’s streaming service....

A new mod surfaces that allows Street Fighter 5 players to play as Tracer from Overwatch within the game, who replaces Cammy in the roster. Street Fighter 5 and Overwatch are obviously two very different games: one is a wildly successful team-based shooter, and the other is an arcade-style fighting game that missed its sales target by a dramatic margin. That being said, the two titles evidently contain a demographic of fans who are enjoying both games, and one talented fan has now found a way express his interest in Overwatch within the confines of Street Fighter 5....

I missed out on Mass Effect when I was younger. It always held that mythical status as one of the best sci-fi RPGs out there, yet whenever I looked at it I got that strange feeling I used to get with the likes of Matt Damon and Brad Pitt. A recent report states the final retail version of Sony’s PlayStation VR will have an external processing unit that is as big as Nintendo’s Wii console. According to Polygon, in order for gaming fans to use Sony’s forthcoming PlayStation VR hardware — formerly known as Project Morpheus — the headset itself will need to be plugged into a black processing box about the size of a Nintendo Wii that will in turn be connected to a PlayStation 4....

If you haven’t heard by now, Build-a-Bear, the stuffed animal workshop has a line of Pokémon plushies. The company has been releasing various monsters over the years and, most recently, has started an eeveelution line. They have done everything from the gen one starters to make a plush of the company mascot Pikachu. Nintendo recently released the first part of DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield, the Isle of Armor, adding various new content including additional story quests, a brand new area, new features, new Pokémon, and more. Fans were excited that Game Freak was returning some of the older generation Pokémon that had previously been missing from the main game, as this had been a contentious issue for players. However, some players were disappointed to find that many fan-favorite Pokémon are still missing....

On the surface, the battle system in the Pokemon games seems simple enough: land hard-hitting moves against the opponent’s weaknesses. With various strategies and team setups, however, finding the right moves can prove difficult. One type of attack worth considering is a recoil move, which deals heavy damage while slightly damaging the user. These moves have some risk involved, obviously, but they outweigh the dangers of getting hit by an opponent’s attack....

Even though Stardust is now available in Pokemon GO Gifts, the precious resource is still always in limited supply. Trainers have to be incredibly careful how they invest their Stardust, especially as new generations continue to be released and shift the metagame. That said, there are some Pokemon who trainers can rely on being useful throughout the coming generations. Pokemon GO has been treating players to a series of seasonally appropriate arrivals since Deerling and Sawsbuck’s introduction in September, and now that Halloween is on the horizon things have started taking a turn for the spooky. Costumed Gengar and Sableye have been introduced to the game alongside several other ghostly bonuses and events, some of which have yet to take place. Alolan Marowak Raid Day is one such event. The special day was originally announced in a Niantic post detailing Halloween happenings in Pokemon GO, but aside from a time and date, the event has remained relatively unexplained until today....

As if the fast-approaching December Community Day event wasn’t reason enough to be excited for next month’s Pokemon GO festivities, the December Field Research Breakthrough reward has been revealed. In a manner similar to the aforementioned event, this Field Research Breakthrough will encompass most of the Pokemon previously featured throughout the year. The only ones to be excluded are Body Slam Snorlax and Shedninja, November’s Field Research reward. This means that Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Suicune, Raikou, and Entei are all featured Pokemon for Pokemon GO’s December Field Research Breakthrough reward....

Team GO Rocket has already made a sizable return in Pokemon GO for Pokemon GO Fest 2020. Many of the admins have returned with updated parties including legendary Pokemon that need to be defeated. One of the Team GO Rocket admins to have an updated party for Pokemon GO Fest 2020 is Arlo, a trainer specializing in steel-type Pokemon. Defeating him allows players to attempt to catch a shadow Mawile, which has the chance to be shiny....

One of the recurring questions throughout the lifespan of Pokemon GO has always been “When will the next batch of new Pokemon be released?” With each new generation players are able to add new Pokedex entries, save up Candy for new evolutions, and adjust their battle rosters to use the new Pokemon who have been added to their collection.
