Design director Drew Murray is leaving Microsoft’s The Initiative after just over two years working at the studio. The announcement was made in a Twitter thread citing personal reasons. “It’s been extraordinary working shoulder-to-shoulder with such a talented and experienced team, many of whom are great friends now,” wrote Murray, “but my life outside of work needs more attention and headspace than I have been able to give it lately, so I’m stepping down from my role....

Persona 5: Royal finally released in the West at the end of March, and it’s been a blast so far. We played through the original game and even got a chunk of the way through NG+, but boy are we glad we put it down in advance knowing that a second release was on the horizon. Tons of things were added into the Royal version of P5, too much to go into, really....

Signify will be raising the prices of many of its Philips Hue smart lighting products from February. The price rises are expected to go as high as 17 per cent on certain products and will affect consumers in Europe. From the beginning of next month, Philips Hue ceiling lights, pendant lights, and outdoor lighting will face price increases. A Signify spokesperson confirmed to Pocket-lint that the UK will be affected as well as European nations and that the average price increase will be 10 per cent....

Blizzard announces an Overwatch free weekend on PS4 and Xbox One with every single character and map available, along with the level up system and loot boxes. Blizzard’s newest IP, Overwatch, has seen huge success since being released on PC and consoles back in May. For a while now there have been rumors that Pokemon GO would be revamping its Gym gameplay by adding some form of multiplayer component to the experience. Today, developer Niantic all but confirmed such a change is on the way, while also announcing its next Fire and Ice Event. Niantic began by confirming the Fire and Ice event will take place starting on June 13th and will, as the name suggests, see an increase in spawn rates for Ice and Fire-type Pokemon....

Pokemon Go’s next Community Day arrives on July 3 at 11 AM local time, bringing Tepig as the Pokemon of the day. As like all Community Days, this means Tepig will appear more often in the wild and you’ll have better odds of finding a shiny version. It also means that Tepig’s evolved during the event will learn a special move. Evolve your Tepig into Pignite during the event or up to two hours afterward and you’ll eventually get an Emboar that knows the Blast Burn charged attack....

Pokemon GO players are having a seriously busy summer. The mobile AR community has barely had a chance to recover from last weekend’s Mudkip Community Day event and Niantic is already releasing a new exciting batch of content into the game. After three years of waiting, Team GO Rocket has finally arrived and players have a chance to defend their hometowns from the bad guys. The new Pokemon GO Team Rocket Invasions seem to be built off of the trainer battle structure that players are already familiar with, but there are some new mechanics like Rocket Pokestops and Shadow Pokemon to make things a bit more exciting....

Bandai’s newest sets of Pokémon Scale World Figurines are now available for pre-order from the NintendoSoup Store. The figurines will ship come February of next year in two separate rounds. The first set to ship is the Pokemon Scale World Galar: Bea and Hitmontop set, followed shortly by the Pokémon Scale World Galar: Allister, Cursola, and Mimikyu set. Bea is the gym leader of Stow-on-Side’s Gym and specializes in fighting-type pokemon....

There’s been a lot of Prince of Persia talk lately. First, there was the Prince of Persia 6 website that got registered in May which made us think that a brand new Prince of Persia game was coming, and then in August a Guatemalan retailer put up a listing for a Prince of Persia remake. They didn’t say which Prince of Persia would be remade, although the store also posted an image of Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones and also noted two listings for a PS4 and Nintendo Switch version of the game....

Unofficial PS1 and PS2-themed DualSense controllers are available right now for anyone who wants to change up the default black and white. The DualSense controller has been one of the most celebrated elements of the PS5. However, the lack of options when it comes to design has been a sticking point for some. So far, PlayStation has only released the one design, the black and white DualSense that matches the console....

A leaked Sony survey hints at some of the key features of PlayStation 4 firmware update 4.0, including folders, PS1/PS2 game support, wishlists, and more. Last month, Sony released PS4 firmware update 3.0 This update introduced several new features such as the ability to stream to YouTube Gaming, the Events hub, Communities and stickers, which allow people to add a little ‘something’ to their messages with friends.
