Unpopular opinions are a great way for people to really sit down and think critically about something they are passionate about, though more often than not they will, instead, just point out that not everyone likes the same things. One of the most recent games that seems to be full of unpopular opinions is the generation eight Pokémon games, Sword & Shield. Easily the most divisive games in the series since Black & White, Sword & Shield’s many failings, as well as its high points, are the subject of debate even a year after its release, with many people taking to Reddit to discuss how they feel about the latest Pokémon adventure....

For any of you not in the know, Power Rangers is not a wholly original show. “NO WAY!” you may cry. Wait! Don’t go off into the Desert of Despair… let me explain. Power Rangers takes much of its battle footage from a Japanese program called Super Sentai. While Bluehole Studio is constantly working on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in order to bring fresh content into the title – PUBG Mobile recently announced a Mission: Impossible – Fallout crossover event, for instance – the developer also has to deal with such problems as bugs, glitches, network errors, and more. With this being the case, PUBG Corp. and Bluehole Studio recently launched a website for the battle royale title that is dedicated to the overall improvement of the game....

Another day, another update for the relentlessly popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Nope, it’s not map selection (as if), but there are some interesting features here. Not least of which the ability to spectate the player who offed you. As we know, PUBG and Fortnite, the rival it inspired, are right at the pinnacle of battle royale video games. There they are right at the top, utterly dominating the genre. Granted, they’re sitting up there relentlessly bickering and making cheap yo mama jokes from the nineties about each other, but that’s immaterial....

A new Ratchet & Clank animated short was unexpectedly released on Crave, a Canadian streaming service. According to PlayStation, Ratchet & Clank: Life of Pie is an original licensed animation that is unrelated to the forthcoming PS5 game Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The animated short, which received no marketing prior to its release, was discovered by Reddit users. Featuring the original voice cast for the Ratchet & Clank video games, Life of Pie was developed by Mainframe Studios and was produced in 2019....

Red Dead Redemption 2 is continuing to entertain its player-base almost a whole month after its release in October thanks to its gargantuan amount of content, and it’s only about to get bigger once the title’s online multiplayer mode - simply called Red Dead Online - releases. While developer Rockstar have yet to officially confirm a release date, it most likely will arrive by the end of this month. And we’ve already got an albeit very small sampling of it courtesy of a leak....

It’s been a very long road for Red Dead Redemption 2 following multiple delays but with only a few weeks remaining before it officially launches, the wait appears to have been well worth it. Rockstar Games has been steadily revealing more and more about the game from its new protagonist Arthur Morgan, to all of the new mechanics and systems at play in the stunning and huge open world. While Red Dead Redemption 2 is poised to be Rockstar’s most visually stunning game ever, the experience appears to be even better for Xbox One X owners....

The retirement of Reggie Fils-Aimé keeps getting busier, as he has been appointed to GameStop’s board of directors, effective immediately. Reggie is best known for his long tenure with Nintendo, where he became one of the faces of the company during the DS/Wii era. In 2019, Reggie stepped down from his role as president and COO of Nintendo of America, where he was succeeded by Doug Bowser. Reggie wanted to retire of his own volition and there is no indication that he was ousted or has any health issues....

The Persona series has always revolved around simultaneous themes of humanity’s incredible complexity and the magnificent mythologies that spawn from dynamic minds in years long gone. Those interested in angels, demons, and supernatural beings of all kinds should greatly enjoy seeing their favorite myths and legends come to life in one of the most immersive and unique Japanese Role Playing Game franchises in history. After Felix ‘PewDiePie’ Kjellberg used a racial slur in a stream of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the gaming community and YouTube creators became immediately embroiled in debates over the matter. Although many discussions have been held over racism within gaming, in particular the use of racist language in the online multiplayer setting, there were also concerns among other creators over exactly what the ramifications would be. Soon after the stream itself, Firewatch studio Campo Santo Games made it clear that it would lodging a copyright strike against the YouTuber, with developer Sean Vanaman stating that a similar fate would reach any further videos from PewDiePie on Campo Santo projects....

Phil Spencer, the head of Microsoft’s Xbox division, states that in order for Alan Wake 2 come to fruition, developer Remedy Entertainment “has to want to make” it. As if it needed to be said, gaming fans the world over would love to eventually get confirmation that Remedy Entertainment is indeed working on Alan Wake 2. However, the studio doesn’t have any news to share when it comes to creating a follow-up to the title in question, for the company is currently busy with two games in development that aren’t a direct sequel to the 2010 psychological horror release....

To the surprise of few, Xbox executive vice president of gaming Phil Spencer recently said that when it comes to improving the games industry in the long run, there is little to be gained from attempting to run companies like Sony out of business. Spencer continued by stating that as other companies expand and innovate how consumers access games and the types of games they play, everyone can learn and innovate towards improving their own offerings....

A year after its Microsoft launch – and probably a year too late – PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be making its way to the PlayStation 4. The game will become available to PS4 users as of December 7th and will be priced at $30, with a “survivors edition” at $50 and a “champions edition” at $60.
