So many big titles at the moment have dropped their own Christmas updates to match the holiday season, from Call of Duty to Animal Crossing. Ubisoft has even been offering daily free content throughout this week for its games, like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs Legion. Even smaller games are joining in with the Christmas spirit, including 3D platformer Pumpkin Jack. Pumpkin Jack released in October and, while it’s very much a Halloween-themed game where players take control of the titular pumpkin-headed Jack, company Headup clearly saw an opportunity to shake things up with a Christmas update, while also trying to appeal to new players....

Developed by Atlus, P-Studio, and Dynasty Warriors developer Omega Force, which just recently put out of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, the upcoming musou-styled game sees the fan-favorite Phantom Thieves embark on a mission to solve mysterious change of heart cases all over Japan one year after the original Persona 5 game....

It’s probably fair to say that golf fans haven’t had much choice when it comes to officially licensed games for their favorite sport. Rory Mcllroy’s PGA Tour was so badly received at the time of its release that it effectively killed the long-running franchise developed under the EA Sports banner. It was then left to developers HB Studios to pick up the slack with their own The Golf Club series. They weren’t officially licensed PGA games but the last entry in the series, The Golf Club 2019, did feature six TPC courses and a PGA Tour mode....

The hype for the next generation of systems is building, but there is one figure in the industry who isn’t impressed by the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X. PlatinumGames’ Hideki Kamiya likes the Nintendo Switch more than what he has seen of Microsoft and Sony’s upcoming outings. In a 2019 interview, Kamiya said that the next generation of systems will improve the graphics and load times, but they won’t be innovative....

Mega Evolutions are now in Pokémon GO. With your Mega Bracelet at the ready, you too can Mega Evolve your favorite ‘mon to take on the world. Rather than requiring the appropriate Mega Crystal as with the previous Pokémon games, Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO requires Mega Energy which can only be obtained from defeated Mega Raid Bosses. It’s a big year for the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo stated back in January that the console is the “fastest-selling home video game system of all time in the U.S.” Coming up later this year are the first new Pokémon games for the console, which will surely add to the Switch’s massive sales. Pokémon Sword & Shield have been criticized for using character models that seem to be recycled from the Pokémon games on the Nintendo 3DS, but this is will not be the case, as Game Freak is claiming that the character models in Sword & Shield were built from scratch. Pokémon Sword & Shield won’t be including every Pokémon from throughout the series, due to time limitations, which means that only Pokémon from the Galar region will be included in the games....
