It’s been over four years since the launch of Pokemon GO, Niantic’s genre-defining Pokemon spin-off. In that time, the game has grown incredibly, adding new features, items, and Pokemon. One of these later additions is the Mega Raid system, which allows Pokemon GO players a chance to catch a Mega-Evolved Pokemon. The Pokemon that appear in Mega Raids swap in and out regularly, following a rotation system. Occasionally, however, a brand new Mega-Evolution is added into the mix, something which will happen again this January....

Capping off today’s first-ever Square Enix presents stream, the company revealed that the previously titled Project Athia will now be called Forspoken. While a silly name, at least we have something proper to call it instead of all the working titles the company has been fond of. Along with that proper title, it seems Forspoken will be shedding its previous PS5 exclusivity and is planned for a release on Sony’s new console and PC’s in 2022....

People who plan to purchase the PS5 and want to play their PS4 games on Sony’s next-gen console may have a major disappointment coming if they own certain games. According to one source, a lot of saves that work on the PS4 won’t work on the PS5, adding a new factor for players to consider when considering whether to buy a PS5 or an Xbox. The PS5 is the newest console to be part of Sony’s lineup, but according to The Washington Post, the Xbox Series X already has a major advantage over the PS5 that many players won’t want to ignore: apparently a lot of PS4 saves won’t be compatible with the PS5, while the Xbox Series X is reported to let players bring their save files over to the new console....

Upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive Returnal has gotten a new trailer showing off planet Atropos. The PlayStation YouTube channel posted a video showcasing the diverse locations of Housemarque’s upcoming roguelike, Returnal. Players may be familiar with some of the studio’s popular, like the positively reviewed Resogun and Alienation. These titles combine visceral and colorful graphics with arcade gameplay at a breakneck speed. While those entries were of a smaller scale, the team is looking to evolve its signature style for the next generation PlayStation....

While Epic Games’ Fortnite Battle Royale is arguably a global phenomenon at this point, there’s no reason to count out Bluehole Studios’ PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds just yet, especially after the battle royale title just recently broke a major concurrent player record on Steam. As it so happens, PUBG has now managed to become the first Steam game to have one million concurrent players for 365 consecutive days. According to data and analytics from the tracking site SteamDB, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has managed to maintain a year-long streak of hosting one million or more concurrent players every day since September 2017....

Last month, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds fans on Xbox One got one step closer to having the content within its version become completely in line with the PC iteration, as Bluehole Studio brought War Mode to the title’s console port. Now, it looks as if the developer is steadily working to ensure that all PUBG versions get the same content, as the Xbox One iteration of the Battle Royale release will be getting a Training Mode soon....
