This week, Rockstar Games gave fans their closest look yet at Red Dead Redemption 2 in the form of an extended trailer. Not long after, press previews of the game arrived, detailing some of the new features included in the game, and some twists on established gameplay. Based on the previews it sounds like Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to give players more options than ever. They will be able to choose when to do what and whether or not to ignore certain missions entirely....

Red Dead Redemption has never exactly been known for flawless heroes. Part of what makes the overarching story of the Red Dead Redemption games so special is that no matter what philosophy or lofty ideals each protagonist strives towards, ultimately their past catches up to them. But the same can be said of the villains of the game as well, emphasized by Jack Marston at the end of Red Dead Redemption....

Red Dead Redemption II has the player fight against a wide range of enemies, such as the outlaw Colm O’Driscoll to the business mogul Leviticus Cornwall. The Van Der Linde Gang also fights against a southern gang called the Lemoyne Raiders. The Lemoyne Raiders are responsible for attacking caravans and anyone who gets in their way. There are numerous ways for the player to discover information about this gang. By looting corpses, reading notes, and listening to conversations across the game’s world, players are able to learn more about this troubling gang....

Persona is doing really well for itself. There’s an unbelievable amount of Persona content on the market right now, all thanks to the explosion in popularity that the franchise has seen in the last few years. Ever since Persona 3, there’s been international attention on these games, but it was Persona 5 that really kicked off a craze and vastly multiplied Persona’s fanbase. Atlus deserves to celebrate what it’s achieved with this JRPG franchise—and this year, it will....

Early last week, a petition surfaced with the intent of requesting that LucasFilm parent company Disney remove the Star Wars license from Electronic Arts. As can be expected, Star Wars fans were frustrated with the studio’s handling of the franchise for Battlefront 2, especially as it pertains to microtransactions and loot boxes. When we first reported on the petition, it was gaining steam and had about 19,000 signatures, but now it has exploded....

PewDiePie’s war with Indian YouTube channel T-Series has been raging since last year, and it is far from over. Recently, PewDiePie has started live-streaming himself playing various video games in an attempt to boost his subscriber count against T-Series, and those efforts have been successful. In the past, he has streamed Fortnite and Roblox, and now he has returned to the video game that helped propel him to stardom in the first place: Minecraft....

Both Microsoft and Sony were conspicuously quiet on the longevity of the Xbox 360 and the PS3 at this year’s E3, making it clear that announcements won’t be made until development is much farther along. Sony in particular has remained stoic, claiming that it is not their goal to launch first, but to launch best. With more and more developers speaking of their hopes for the next generation of consoles in vocabulary that implies the jump will take place sooner rather than later, evidence that the manufacturers are also gearing up has arrived....

The Alola region is a set of isles that were inspired by the Hawaiian archipelago. It’s a region of beautiful beaches, exciting mountain regions, dangerous cliffs, and scary portals that connect to different realities and are also an entryway to powerful and problematic Pokémon called “Ultra Beasts”. But don’t get scared by that last part, as you can enter these portals to visit new and enigmatic places for fun or to hunt these powerful Pokémon....

While the show and games come under the same banner, intertwined with each other through the same world, they have entirely different aspects to each. There are a couple of different legendary Pokémon in the franchise. Legendary Pokémon are not like regular Pokémon because they are stronger and usually a lot older than other Pokémon. Mewtwo is one of the first legendary Pokémon that were discussed in the franchise and was the main theme from Pokémon: The First Movie. Mewtwo was created in a lab by the genetic material of Mew, a very rare legendary Pokémon....

The gym leaders of the Pokémon world are some of the most formidable trainers in the series. They’re the end of level bosses, essentially, to be defeated in sequence to allow the player passage from the beginning of a given game to the final challenge at the end. Whether they actually earn their fearsome canonical reputation is a different matter, though. AI trainers can be super tough, but they’re still AI trainers, liable to choose the wrong moves on a given turn and often reliant on the questionable level-up movesets of their critters....
