Persona 4 Golden, the definitive version of the popular JRPG Persona 4, has made its way to Steam. This was a surprise launch by developer Atlus.
This marks the first time that a main line Persona title is available on any other platform other than PlayStation. Persona 4 Golden released in 2012 on the PS Vita, and includes no new content or changes. The PC release does include support for resolutions up to 2560x1440, as well as texture improvements.
Persona 4 Golden has remained on the Vita for the past eight years. With many fans claiming it being the best of the series. This left a void for many who missed out on the console or who wanted the experience. While Golden added new characters and expanded the story of the original Persona 4 which released in 2008.
The games plot follows a group of highschoolers who must help solve a spree of murders in their town. Like many other persona titles the gameplay is a mix of turn-based combat and dungeons. The main protagonist are aided by their super natural Persona abilities. There is also a visual novel aspect where the player must build bonds with classmates.
The last game in the series, Persona 5, recently had its own enhanced edition Persona 5 Royal. There have been spinoffs on the Nintendo 3DS, PS4, and Vita.
This game is available as a standard version $19.99 or the deluxe edition which includes the digital soundtrack and art book $24.99
