With Persona 5 Striker’s debut, there is a lot more to learn about the Phantom Thieves than ever before. Ann, or Panther as she is known in the metaverse, returns as a fiery member of the team. During the first jail of the game, Ann really gets to shine as the thieves are taking on a villain who is part of the fashion industry.
There are a lot of things about Ann that fans should know, especially when it comes to how she lives her life after joining the thieves and what her goals for the future are. Below is everything you need to know about Ann Takamaki.
10 She Doesn’t Mind Competition
One of the great things about Ann is how kind she is. Ann isn’t one to get jealous or try to hurt other models to climb to the top. She even asks to meet Alice as she really looks up to her for her unique designs in the game. Ann sees her seniors not as competitors but as people she can learn from.
Ann is happier making friends with those in the fashion industry than wasting her time trying to outdo them.
9 She Has Had to Put Up With A lot of Bullying
When players started Persona 5, they quickly learned that Ann wasn’t exactly the most popular girl in school. She was actually bullied because of her career and had a tough time fitting in because of it. This is once again revisited in Strikers when talking about Alice’s trauma.
Both characters had to deal with the negative influence of girls around them just because boys found them attractive.
8 She is a Scorpio
Ann was born on November 12 and is now 17 years old in Strikers. This puts her under the Scorpio sign, which may have been used as an influence on her personality. Many fans have also linked her Persona to this sign, especially due to their mythology circling around men.
There is no doubt that Ann will always have a fiery personality that isn’t afraid to stand up for others.
7 She Doesn’t Care About Standing Out
Ann’s blonde hair alone makes her stand out from the crowd. She was so used to not fitting in, though, that she learned early on to style herself how she wants. Her fashion sense is more in line with western trends than with traditional Japanese streetwear.
Ann also doesn’t mind wearing bright red colors that stand out as she blocks out negative attention.
6 Ann Has A Sweet Tooth
In the original game, Ann was always a fan of sweet treats and showed her loves for crepes. From the first game, players know that Ann loves to indulge in some tasty food and doesn’t have to work too hard to keep herself in shape. This seems to hold true in Strikers as well, as she loves trying all the different foods.
Joker even ends up going out of his way to bring her special deserts when the groups visit Sendai.
5 She Wants to Be a Famous Model
During the campaign in Strikers, Ann is a third-year and has plans for her future. When she talks about her wish in the game, it revolves around being able to walk down a major runway. She wants to eventually become a major fashion model and is putting her all into the career now.
In Persona 5, players even got to watch as she became more serious about her job.
4 She is Horrible at Acting
Ann may have talent in modeling, but when it comes to acting, she isn’t very good at it. She’s so bad at it, in fact, that the official Japanese site gives her a joke title about being the group’s actor.
As players can see, Ann is more honest than ever and doesn’t do well at blending in with a crowd.
3 She Doesn’t Have Dating Experience
Despite having a dating path in Persona 5, it isn’t canon in Strikers. In fact, in Sapporo, you are given a chance to invite a character to go on the Ferris wheel with you. While characters like Futaba will see it as a date, Joker gets shot down by Ann when he tries to flirt with her.
Instead of reciprocating his wish to be alone with her, Ann starts talking about how much she wants to help Alice.
2 She’s Immune to Mona’s Feelings
Despite now being stuck as a cat in the real world, Mona has yet to give up on winning Ann’s heart. This is shown in him trying to woo her with gifts in Strikers. Morganna still comments on her beauty and is made to sleep outside with the boys at night.
It looks like Ann is now able to completely block out Mona when he starts gushing over her.
1 Soejima Loves Her
Players can’t deny that a lot of love has gone into all the character’s designs. Ann is as stylish as ever with her summer outfit, and the game’s character design Shigenori Soejima has actually admitted that Ann is his favorite character, which may be why she’s so stylish.
Ann is the perfect character to place in trendy outfits and always stands out in every cutscene.
