Ryuji is a character that Persona fans either love or hate. He is known for spouting the line “For Real!” and his rather aggressive nature. In Persona 5 Strikers, Ryuji doesn’t seem to have changed all that much. He is more than happy to mouth off to the monarchs and is quick to defend his friends. Ryuji has a heart of gold below and is happy to be surrounded by his friends during their trip.

He supports Joker and is a key member of the thieves. He doesn’t show fear in the face of pain and is more than happy to lend a hand even when it means inconveniencing himself to do it.

10 He’s a Man of Many Names

Ryuji, or Skull as he is known in the metaverse, is a man of many names. This is proven even further when Sophia first addresses him as Skeleton. Some of the other names he has been called are Skullface, Sprintmaster, Blondie, and even Vulgar Boy when first introduced in Persona 5.

He is often addressed by degrading nicknames by palace rulers as well, with even Okumura calling him " The Obnoxious Blond One."

9 He Has High Pain Tolerance

Ryuji is the one the thieves will send in whenever there is an unknown that needs to be conquered. In Scramble, this comes up when the group finds a trauma wall. Ryuji is able to hold on to the wall despite the pain coursing through his body, which allows the group to ultimately fight the boss.

Ryuji seems to take being put in pain better than even Joker, who is supposed to be the group’s strongest member.

8 He is Still Pretty Vulgar

Ryuji is as Vulgar as ever in Stickers and even drops the game’s first F-bomb, much to fans’ delight. Ryuji is the first to cuss out a monarch and has no trouble using language to fully express his anger. It seems that the group has come to accept and love Ryuji despite his colorful language.

It should be noted that he is respectful to those who deserve it and around children like Akane.

7 He Doesn’t Like Traditional Looks

Ryuji was known in school for dying his hair to blonde and not wearing the correct uniform. This hasn’t changed, and it appears that he is still keeping his hair blonde. When the group puts on kimonos for the festival in-game, Ryuji takes a much less traditional route to his dress.

He wears an outfit with shorts instead of dressing up the same as Joker and Yusuke.

6 He Is Still Bad at School

Ryuji seems to still have a rough time when it comes to learning. As it turns out, Ryuji barely passed his last exam and even failed three of the subjects on it. He also seems to still have a distaste for studying, as is pointed out by the group when talking about returning home.

Ryuji also doesn’t seem to have a career path in mind, but he doesn’t deny that he’s going to college.

5 His Obsession With Ramen Has Gotten Worse

Ryuji is a ramen lover who is more than happy to show Joker his favorite spot to eat in Tokyo. It seems this hasn’t changed in Scramble as he suggests eating ramen and even finished a giant bowl of, which in turn leads to him having a giant stomach ache.

Ryuji’s special request in the game sends Joker to get limited edition meal tickets for a ramen shop.

4 Makoto Terrifies Him

Ryuji doesn’t seem to fear much of anything. He jumps into helping Joker in both games, despite the risk of the metaverse. He also isn’t afraid to speak his mind to villains that could easily target him. Makoto is a different story, though, as she strikes fear into Ryuji with her threats.

The last thing Ryuji seems to want to do is to invoke Makoto’s fists of justice.

3 He Isn’t Great With The Ladies

Despite the fact that Ryuji is now 18, it doesn’t seem like he’s had much luck in his love life. When on the ferris wheel with Joker, he starts talking about how he hasn’t had a girlfriend. He is also severely bummed out if the player mentions that Joker may already have one.

Ryuji also seems to miss the mark with Ann, even though he obviously finds her attractive.

2 He Greatly Underestimates Sophie

Ryuji seems to be the least understanding of Sophie when she is first introduced in Strikers. When Sophie asks the group to say something they want, Ryuji says he wants a gold bar without a second thought about what the mysterious girl may or may not be capable of.

When a box arrives moments later, he is still in disbelief about the contents before opening it.

1 He Fought Zenkichi

It seems that Ryuji got the bad end of the stick from the group’s sand art with Zenkichi. When talking to Ryuji after the incident, Zenkichi teases him, asking if he’d like to be put into a lock again. Ryuji immediately looks shaken and says no.

The rest of the group doesn’t seem to have gotten the chance to feel Zenkichi’s wrath.
