Yusuke appeared in the second palace of Persona 5, making him one of the most developed characters in the original game. He attends a different school from the rest of the group and is an artist. His mother made the famous painting Sayuri, and he is following in her footsteps by creating unique art and having a little interest in distractions. In Strikers, Yusuke is now a third-year who seems to have grown even stranger.

He is a massive part of the game’s second jail and helps to snap the monarch back to his senses. Like in the first game, he helps design the calling cards.

10 He Can Sleep Standing Up

One of the more unique talents that Yusuke has developed is the ability to fall asleep just about anywhere. This is shown when he literally falls asleep in the middle of a meeting while still standing up. He even goes unnoticed by his friends for quite some time while snoozing.

This is honestly a pretty great ability and one that many gamers wish they had.

9 He is Obsessed With Lobster

Yusuke has a very strange obsession in the first game, and it’s grown in Strikers. For some reason, he is completely obsessed with lobsters. Everywhere the team goes, he suggests eating lobster, no matter what type of weather they are in or what the specialties of the town they are visiting may be.

In Okinawa, he is even seen hanging out with lobsters while swimming in the ocean and is likely the one who placed them on Zenkichi.

8 Yusuke is in Love With Food

The one thing that Yusuke seems to care about just as much as art is food. While this may stem from his harsh treatment by Madarame, he seems to be more in love with food than he ever could be with another human. Yusuke is regularly depicted losing his mind when trying a new dish.

It is also revealed that he ran out of money on the trip due to the fact he kept buying tasty foods.

7 He Can Now Make Figures

When the players are in Okinawa, they will actually receive a request from Yusuke. As it turns out, he was inspired by the jails and wants to make some art. After the player fulfills the request, he will sculpt a mini figure of Shiisa that will sit on the counter of the RV for the rest of the game.

As it turns out, Yusuke is now able to quickly create some pretty life-like figures when given the proper inspiration.

6 He Isn’t Interested in Love

Yusuke doesn’t function like a normal person, and this makes him extremely lovable. One of the things that fans should have noticed in the first game was his complete lack of understanding in romance. This is seen with both Joker on the boat ride and when he asks Ann to pose for him.

In Strikers, if he goes on the ferris wheel, he will be more interested in the view than talking about love like Ryuji.

5 He is Still Having Money Trouble

Yusuke seems to be doing a bit better, but he still fits the starving artist trope. In the last game, Yusuke refused to be bought off, even if it meant he had to struggle. Strikers reveal that he has kept his word, although it’s not known if he makes money by selling art or a part-time job.

Despite his lack of money, it seems like the group is more than happy to feed him.

4 He Isn’t Great at Making Friends

Poor Yusuke just isn’t a social butterfly at school. Thanks to his strange demeanor and focus on his work, he hasn’t really made friends outside the thieves. He seems to be perfectly fine with this, and he likely wouldn’t fit in all too well with regular high school students.

Yusuke may have better luck at finding like-minded people when he attends an art college.

3 He Reads Regularly

Yusuke seems to enjoy wrapping himself up in all types of arts. Reading doesn’t seem to be an exception, as is shown when he is already in the middle of Natsume’s book. He relates to authors and their desire to create worlds that capture readers’ attention.

He also seems to be knowledgeable about books as he can immediately tell the work is plagiarized.

2 He’s Still Protective Over His Mother

Yusuke does get serious, but he rarely loses his cool. In Strikers, he is seen standing up to Natsume when he hears him talking down about his mother’s painting, the Sayuri. He immediately confronts Natsume and calls him out for being nothing more than a fraud.

Yusuke deeply cared for his mother and refuses to let anyone speak of her negatively.

1 He is The Most Comfortable of The Thieves

Yusuke is a member of the group who is extremely comfortable with himself. He has no issues cramming in the small tent with Joker, Mona, and Ryuji. In fact, Yusuke sleeps pretty easily this way. Yusuke is also more than happy to take photos with Joker as his wife.

This delights Futaba, but Yusuke is just happy to be able to experience a part of history.
