Persona 5 Strikers picked up where the original left off, with the Phantom Thieves on summer vacation. Not all is as it seems, though, as the metaverse is active once again, the world has started to use AIs for everyday tasks, and palaces have changed to jails. Luckily, two new Phantom Thieves are here to help out: the public security officer Zenkichi and the AI Sophia.

Sophia is one of the major mysteries of the game as she is found by Joker sealed inside of a boss within the first jail. After escaping, she lives in Joker’s smartphone and aids the group in the real world as well.

10 House Plants Confuse Her

Sophia isn’t exactly used to all the strange things that humans do. This includes bringing small trees into their homes. After getting Sophia, if the player interacts with the plant in Joker’s old room, she will comment on the fact that they are keeping a living plant inside the shop, even though she understands cigarettes. Plants are a popular hobby for humans, but when put into perspective by Sophia, it does seem a bit strange.

9 She Wants To Try Human Food

Sophia seems extremely curious about human food. Many of the restaurants that the group goes to intrigue Sophia’s interest, and she exclaims several times that she wants to try the food. Since she is an AI, Sophie doesn’t need to eat, and it’s not clear if food can actually be fed to her in the metaverse. Although food items can be used to heal her, she never comments on them. At one point she even wants to take a standee into the metaverse.

8 She Confuses Morgana For A Racoon

Sophia may be a hyper-intelligent AI, but it seems she may not be that great at biology. When she first sees Morgana, she mistakes him as being a raccoon. Raccoons have wider tails, mask-like marking, and are even have a different coloring to Mona, who is black and white like a standard tuxedo cat.

This may be a reference to Jose from Persona Royal, who also got Mona mixed up with a Tanuki.

7 She Is Cruel When First Awakened

Sophie is not exactly keen on human feelings after first being brought into Joker’s phone. In fact, she even suggests that the Phantom Thieves should have no problem killing monarchs. Sophie sees them as evil and believes removing them is a step forward. This is quickly corrected by the rest of the team, and they explain to her why killing is bad.

6 Her Birthday Is In August

Sophie does have a birthday on August 28, although this may be looked over by some fans due to the stories finally. Going by the in-game time, Sophie is actually only one year old, although she has not been active for the majority of this year, as is revealed in the game. Sadly as many know, this date holds special significance for the game.

5 She Can Easily Access Illegal Goods

Sophie certainly didn’t have morals when she was first awakened. When Skull jokingly said he wanted a gold bar, one was instantly delivered to Leblanc. She admits that she was able to secure the bar using illegal means, but it isn’t really revealed how she paid to get it actually delivered. It’s very likely that Sophie is able to manipulate shops as she sees fit and could get tons of free products.

4 She Doesn’t Understand Religion

Sophie being an AI means that she gathers most of her information from the internet. She looks for the most reliable and accredited sources on the web in order to provide the best assistance possible to the phantom thieves. Her lack of understanding of religion is seen in Okinawa.

She doesn’t understand holy ground and comments on the fact that scientific information makes more sense to her.

3 She Is A Virgo

Virgos are traditionally seen as a hard-working bunch, something that is incredibly fitting of an AI. Sophia is always ready to solve any problems the crew runs into and was happy to jump into battle right after she awakened. She also becomes frustrated when she feels that she can’t assist others. She is a reliable friend who becomes more and more understanding of her group’s needs as the story progresses.

2 She Doesn’t Understand Alcohol

Sophie doesn’t seem to understand how alcohol works or the effects it has on the human body. When Joker passes a liquor store in Sapporo, she is amazed by how much fun the patrons are having. Mona tries to explain it away but doesn’t go into details about how the drink works. This is a bit surprising since she has gathered information on so many other topics.

1 She Is Interested In Karaoke

There are karaoke bars located all throughout the game. When the player decides to interact with one, Sophie usually comments about how it would be fun to try out. Sophie already sings a small tune about being a humanity’s companion, so karaoke may not be that hard for her. Along with karaoke, she also seems interested in going to an arcade to play light gun games.
