Taking a step back from the well-established formula fans have gotten to know very well over the years, Strikers takes a different approach to the series. It delivers an action-packed title to satisfy those Persona urges. Based around the combat of the game, players will get much more fight time vs. previous games, shifting the focus away from the story for a while.
This means that they’ve put so much effort into the battle that they decided to go a whole different direction. The turn-based system is replaced with some real-time combat that ramps up the adrenaline. Strikers makes the big attacks that we’ve gotten used to in previous games the main attraction – every character with their own take. Some of these attacks stand out among the pack and move them into the finishing position for any team.
10 Joker (Pixie) - The Worst Way To Finish Things Off
Almost beating out Arsene’s record for cutting it straight to the point, there’s really nothing to this attack. Most of the attack time is focused on Joker taking off his mask with a quick cameo of Pixie flicking her wrist from a rear angle.
While Arsene’s Showtime attack looked clean, this one just feels like they could have done a lot more with it. A few barely seen blast zones don’t make up for the lack of creativity seen in this move.
9 Joker (Arsene) - Simple And Clean
This attack gets straight to the point without any of the extra fluff that the other Phantom Thieves come with. Joker takes off his mask with Arsene before launching into the ground. The damage done is great and you don’t have to wait around for the bang.
While it might not be the most exciting of the bunch, it’s definitely the cleanest. After all, it’s pretty in-character for Joker to cut out excess flair, but leave us with devastating results.
8 Sophia - A Cute, But Lackluster Move
Mixing in a little sci-fi with a playful attitude, Sophia brings out the yo-yos to set up her big move. She also gives the fans a little freestyle before bringing in Pithos to deliver the final quad beam attack.
Running with Sophia’s AI theme, this attack definitely has something to it, but it also lacks some real impact. Thus, her attack feels more like an aesthetic piece than something to get excited over.
7 Morgana - Taking One For The Team
Being Morgana, they couldn’t give up the chance to make even the most devastating attack adorable. Leaping into the sky and transforming into a shaky bus, Morgana zooms forward toward the enemy via vortex created by Zorro’s sword.
While the attack definitely isn’t the smoothest around, it matches Morgana perfectly. He even looks a little dazed after being thrown into the enemy, but the sacrificial blow delivers every time.
6 Ann - Elegant And Effective
Performing a combination between a hammer throw twirl and a pirouette, this attack walks the line between elegant and brutal. Using her persona Carmen, the pair twirl in a tornado of hearts before unleashing a blast onto the enemy.
Another speedy animation, this attack is sure to catch all enemies off guard. But the attack also highlights Ann’s 2 character traits and seems like the perfect way to take out the shadows.
5 Haru - The Demure Assassin
Haru brings out the heavy attacks with her persona, leading players into a false sense of security from beginning to end. The escalation of the attack is what makes it great as it moves from innocent to being one of the most savage of the bunch.
Showing off Haru’s entire storyline in a way, she starts out by innocently reaching out for Milady’s fan. This quickly turns into an all-out machine gun assault that leaves no prisoners capped off by Haru’s own attack at the end.
4 Ryuji - Boom Goes The Dynamite Baby
This is definitely one of the most stylized attacks in the game which fits for Ryuji’s full-on attack that tends to take no prisoners. From start to finish, the attack is filled with swagger from both Ryuji and Captain Kidd.
Captain Kidd launches a flaming missile to start things off but is quickly followed by an almighty jump into the air and home run swing from Ryuji. All of this gets capped off with a violent explosion resulting in a skull-shaped mushroom cloud; perfect.
3 Yusuke - An Over-The-Top Ice Storm
Already being one of the most impressive characters in battle, the developers had to give Yusuke a flashy finale. First, he will examine the enemy with his artist’s eye by framing them with his fingers followed by Goemon freezing them with his Ice breath.
He will then bring out his staple katana and slice through the ice shards containing the enemy complete with his smug look. While it might be a little bit extra, what did you expect from the art student?
2 Zenkichi - If Revolver Ocelot Had A Thing For Chains
Zenkichi gets to show off some of his shooting skills in tandem with his crazy aggressive technique in his epic move. Players can use his Persona’s chains to tear up the battlefield and knock the enemies out of balance.
This is quickly followed by a western-style quick draw of his pistols before rapid-fire showers against the opponent. The attack wraps up with a casual spin back of the guns before blowing the smoke out with confidence on display full display.
1 Makoto - Dangerous, Speedy, And Cheeky
Coming with the speed and showmanship, Makoto puts her persona to good use. She quickly revs up the bike before shooting right in the middle of the action and performing multiple doughnuts. Of course, she hightails it out of there before flipping off the bike and delivering a nuclear ground punch.
Makoto’s Showtime Attack maxes out the style points while keeping it short and simple and it stands out as one of the best moves in the game. Combining her Persona and physical skills to showboat puts the enemy in their place.
