Now that players are officially making their way to the end of Persona 5 Strikers, it’s time to talk about the bosses. The boss designs were every bit as eye-catching as Persona 5, but with a different battle system comes different mechanics. While not everyone was fond of Okinawa’s boss and Demiurge at the end of the game, the shadow bosses were completely on point for the series.

Many of the bosses used unique themes in their battle style and design that will keep them in the minds of fans for years to come. Below are all eight major bosses in the game, ranked.

8 Warden

There are several Wardens in the game as they are the guards of the trauma rooms that protect the monarchs. In Okinawa, though, a warden acts as the final boss. While he is able to switch things up by using several of the previous Wardens move sets, he isn’t all that hard of a battle, especially since players already know what to watch out for on the field.

His design isn’t really anything special either and doesn’t have anything that players are really going to be clinging to for years to come. This does fit in with Okinawa’s desolate feeling, though.

7 Reaper

The Reaper loves to pop up in the Persona series. Just like before, the Reaper is in Strikers to truly test the player’s skills. Even without a turn-based system, he is a fearsome opponent who would love to hunt your whole team down and wipe them out within instants.

Players who want to fight the Reaper will need to go a bit out of their way this time. Players will need to defeat all the strong shadow requests, including one that they won’t receive until 8/30. Afterward, the player can locate the Reaper in the Okinawa Jail.

6 Demiurge

Demiurge is the final boss of the game and isn’t much of a surprise for Persona fans. He isn’t as hard as the final boss of Persona 5. Players can easily avoid attacks by using the rope to quickly move around the map. In addition, when the player needs to split up their teams, a bit of leveling preparation can make the task a lot less daunting.

Demiurge does have an interesting design, but it doesn’t seem to hold up to the last boss of Persona 5.

5 Ango Natsume

Ango Natsume’s whole prison world was honestly one big joke, and anime fans loved it. The world poked fun at bad fantasy anime and games and at the end of it, Ango turned into the most predictable boss ever, a dragon. Of course, Ango had to make sure he was covered in gold armor just to ensure that he was keeping up tacky appearances.

By the end of the fight, though, players learn that everything from the dragon’s armor to what Natsume’s shadow looked like was nothing but a carefully crafted fake.

4 Marika Hyodo

Marika Hyodo was a woman that suffered from political corruption. This twister her normally kind self into a shadow that sought to consume votes. By ensuring that she could control the voters, she could ensure that the city was run strictly. Her shadow’s never-ending appetite depicts this, as does her power to consume your character in battle.

When fighting Marika Hyodo, players will have to move around the field quickly and learn to save their teammates when they eventually get consumed.

3 Alice Hiragi

Alice Hiragi is the game’s first monarch, and as strange as her design may seem to some, it’s actually pretty unique. Alice wants to attract men due to her treatment in school, but she also loves the fashion world. These two collide together in her shadows design, even when she transforms into her bunny form.

Alice is a fun boss battle that makes sure to show off the game’s unique mechanics against a large opponent. It also drives home the fact that while Strikers works with a different formula than the core series, it’s just as stylish.

2 Akane’s Joker

Doppelganger fights have always been a huge deal in games, whether you’re thinking about The Legend of Zelda or Metroid. Many fans were surprised to find out that they didn’t fight Akane, but instead, she summoned a whole team of phantom thieves to take on the group.

In the battle, the player is only allowed to use Joker in the fight. You must fight against Shadow Joker, but he has all the same moves as the real Phantom Thief and will often mimic the player’s actions. He is even able to dodge bullets and persona attacks.

1 Akira Konoe

Akira is a twisted individual who thinks that he is a real-life Kamen Rider. Akira has an over-the-top view of himself and likens himself to a kids superhero. In the battle against him, Akira even comes with his own mecha. Once he’s knocked out of it, he will have a sword that looks similar to a lightsaber.

Akira’s design and both parts of his boss fight are just pure fun. It also helps that once destroyed, parts of his own mecha can be used against him in the second half of the fight.
