In the wide world of the Persona series, every character has their own strengths and weaknesses. Over the span of every title in the series, players have been exposed to over 150 personas that all have powerful abilities benefitting every style of play. Among the heavy pile of contenders, only a few stand out among the masses.

Constantly upping their game, the latest versions contain some of the most powerful among the bunch. The strongest of all being the ultimate forms, only available in the endgame; they represent the most extreme version of the arcana chain. Taking one of each, the separate personalities all provide a massive positive at different ends of the battle.

10 Beelzebub

The ultimate persona of the Devil arcana, players have to hit level 81 and complete the social link with Sayoko for Beelzebub’s true form. Darkness based attacks get a passive boost right away with the enemies defenses to those attacks being lowered. The best compliment to these skills being Mamudoon, giving a 40% chance to instantly kill with Darkness attacks.

Beelzebub also has support abilities that lower the opponent’s stats and confuse them, a 30% chance for each. At the end of the battle, enemies will be left beaten and bloody, not able to defend all the different angles this persona attacks from.

9 Surt

The lord of fire, Surt is the ultimate persona for the magician arcana. Having both a physical and fire forte makes Surt a contender. An all-out attack machine with everything fire-related, Fire Break even suppresses the innate abilities of fire resistance.

This makes his niche effective in almost all situations, his magical attacks will bring opponents to their knees. Giving the player a chance to burn the opponent as well starts passive damage and a big advantage to all but Ice opponents.

8 Trumpeter

Instead of huge damage, Trumpeter brings some serious support skills to the table. Lethal abilities like Heat Raiser and Debilitate only amplify its function, skills that only belong to a select few personas. Mind Charge is a unique ability that amplifies magic damage by 2.5x.

Defensively it’s at the top of the food chain, boosting the entire party’s defense and upping the evasion for big fights. It can also offensively compete, almighty damage and decreasing the enemy defenses make for a great combination.

7 Izanagi No Okami

Adding to the list of incredibly powerful deity persona’s, Izanagi is the father of all in Japanese mythology. Players have to follow the true ending path to unlock him in Persona 4, requiring a fusion for every time the player wants to summon him. It may not be the most visually pleasing but it packs a serious punch.

Resistant to 5 elemental forces, it’s spread of elemental buffs is second to none. Encompassing the 5 elements in buffs and heavy damage, the range of this persona is wide-reaching. Tuning the persona is the key to a devastating tool, cutting the excess and amplifying the strikes that are most useful.

6 Odin

Resists being Odin’s specialty, any enemy will have a hard time getting through the web of defenses that he provides. The ultimate persona of the emperor arcana, he’s also in possession of the biggest wind move in the game, Panta Rhei. Able to inflict massive damage on a single enemy, he’s a great persona to focus a boss.

His move Mind Charge also boosts a magical attack by 250%, putting some firepower behind the team as well. His Electric damage can be spread across multiple enemies while regenerating health as a passive, Odin covers the spread as one of the best in the series.

5 Siegfried

A physical powerhouse, Siegfried automatically powers up as the battle progresses. Throughout all his iterations in the main series Siegfried has delivered, still some player’s main persona to this day. His high counter passive has the chance of reflecting the enemy’s physical attacks back onto them.

The hit rate shoots up, with its last 2 attacks being high damage physical blows enemies will be targeted with no chance to evade. Bosses without minions will go down easily when Siegfried starts unleashing his final strikes, powered up by his own buffs and ending fights without worry.

4 Messiah

Reaching the deepest level of Tartarus will unlock the ultimate persona for the Judgement arcana, Messiah. Giving the player multiple items, all of which are the strongest items in the game. While most personas have devastating attacks to throw at the enemy, Messiah has the best healing moves in the game. Surviving and healing when fatally struck with Enduring Soul or restoring the entire group’s HP with Oratoria, players can survive almost any attack.

Both absorbing attacks and having one of the most devastating blows in the game with God’s Hand, even the severe cost of 25% health for that attack isn’t a concern with it’s multiple restoring moves.

3 Helel

Only obtainable by bringing the star social links with Teddie up to maximum, Helel is the other manifestation of the Lucifer character. Representing a much more peaceful and angelic figure, Helel brings the power to accompany the majestic visuals.

Able to both repel almost all status effects with Insta Heal, players can go on the offensive without the emphasis on defense. Specializing in almighty attacks also lends to massive power, even spreading the damage across all foes with big destruction.

2 Yoshitsune

Debuting in Persona 4, Yoshitsune commands some of the highest damage out of any persona in the series. Reaching LVL 75 will unlock the summon, requiring a pentagon fusion in the Velvet Room. His Hassou Tobi attack is the strongest multi-hit physical attack that brings even late-stage bosses to their knees.

Combined with the Heat Riser status increase, most situations make this persona the strongest offensive choice in the game. If players have any electric heavy hitters, Yoshitsune both blocks the damage and increases attack power by a further 50%.

1 Satanael

Satanael reveals himself only at the end of the game from the protagonist’s persona Arsene, finishing off the final boss and ending the fight with one fatal blow. This one strike proves his power, with Yaldabaoth being one of the most powerful enemies in the entire series.

Not only does Satanael have a unique skill set, having some of the most powerful recovery moves in the game, he also allows the player to wield the most powerful weapon in the game. Itemizing him with Electric Chair Execution will result in the Paradise Lost Knife, delivering the best form of the protagonist possible in the game.
