Goro Akechi is one of the antagonists of Persona 5. Throughout the game, he is shown as being the opposing power to the Phantom Thieves and is revealed to corrupt by the end of the game. In the new epilogue, you get to play alongside Akechi, who actually begins to act like his true self. In the Pokémon universe, Akechi would be a trainer you likely fight multiple times. While he only starts out with one Pokémon at the beginning, he’d likely confront you at the end of the game with a full team full of troublesome monsters and have multiple super potions.
10 Mimikyu
This is a creature that literally wants to pose as Pikachu to gain more popularity. This isn’t a far cry from how Akechi is in the game. Both Akechi and Mimikyu will kill anyone who gets to close and strive for the attention that they never received before putting on a facade.
Akechi would easily have Mimkyu as one of his starters.
9 Corviknight
Corviknight is a powerful but intelligent creature that would perfectly match Akechi’s Loki look. Corviknights are also said to have a look that can drive fear into those around it, which is something Akechi would love to have up his sleeve when integrating shadows in the metaverse.
Corviknight would most likely end up being his right-hand man, especially if he needed a ride for quick escapes.
8 Noctowl
In line with his noble detective appearance, Noctowl would be the perfect choice to feel in the spot for Corviknight. Noctowl is a decent flying type that could help Akechi with his night-time investigations. Not only that, but he would completely match his everyday attire.
Noctowl looks like he would perfectly fit the bill of a travel partner for casual Akechi.
7 Spiritomb
Back in line with his true nature, you are likely to see Akechi use Spiritomb. Spiritomb was bound to its keystone due to the fact it was always up to mischief. It is a powerful creature that wouldn’t seem to mine going along with Akechi’s scheme in the metaverse.
This Pokémon even took joy in terrorizing a nearby town in the anime. Spiritomb would probably even enjoying the act of helping Akechi cause psychotic breakdowns.
6 Honedge
Akechi likes to look knightly when working with the Phantom Thieves in the Metaverse, and Honedge will help add to that. It also helps that Akechi would likely use Honedge’s ability to drain away life force to his advantage, especially since it could hurt Joker.
Just like Akechi Honeedge might look noble, but is hiding a deadly secret. Honedge would be perfect for both fake and real Akechi’s team.
5 Raticate
Rattata is another common creature that Akechi could carry around when putting on an act. It matches his color scheme and has decent stats that would let him do decently well in a fight. Raticate also commonly comes with the ability guts, which could elude back to Akechi’choice to take on the thieves.
There is also an entry that reveals that Raticate is far more violent than it initially appears, just like Akechi.
4 Seviper
Seviper would easily fit in with Akechi’s real team. Seviper would be a great partner for poisoning his allies. Fans have already seen that Seviper’s will work with the bad guys in the anime, so it’s only fitting that Akechi would find one to add to his team.
Seviper also has a tail that it constantly keeps honed for battle, which would likely delight the blood-thirsty Akechi.
3 Gumshoos
To round out his detective team, fans would expect to see none of than Gumshoos. Gumshoos is based on a detective and is a patient creature. Gumshoos will act civil until there prey is right where they want it and then violently attack them.
As a detective, Akechi will need to have a partner that is patient enough to wait around while he carries out an investigation.
2 Umbreon
Akechi could easily be seen finding an Eevee and then raising it since he was a young boy. As Akechi’s views got more twisted and he went into the metaverse at night, that Eevee would end up evolving into an Umbreon. Umbreon is well-known for waiting in the shadows until it’s time to pounce.
Umbreon is also known to shoot out poison when it feels threatened, which would be useful for when Akechi gets cornered.
1 Grimmsnarl
Grimmsnarl would easily be the muscle of Akechi’s team and one of his last picks. The Pokedex states that Grimmsnarl is an incredibly strong dark fairy-type. Akechi isn’t great at doing the heavy lifting himself, and having a partner that is only obsessed with being strong blindly following him would be perfect.
We could easily see Akechi waiting to throw Grimmsnarl out last in order to trip up his opponents. The fairy moves it can learn would even give dragon trainers problems.
