In Phasmophobia, players can group up in teams of 4 to investigate paranormal activity. However, everyone will need to bring their best skills to sniff out any signs of ghostly wrongdoing. To that end, each player can make use of equipment and special items they come across such as the ouija board.
Since early history, ouija boards have been used by cultures across the world to try and communicate with the dead. In this popular horror game, the device has been adapted so that players can ask specific questions bringing them closer to the truth and the culprit responsible. But there are a few things to keep in mind before making use of this powerful item.
Finding a Ouija Board
Unlike other gear that is available by default or purchasable at the start, the ouija board can only be found by exploring the map. Unfortunately, its location will be randomized every time, so anyone hoping to make use of its power must search far and wide. Note that it’s possible to go multiple rounds without seeing an ouija board or find it in the first room depending on luck.
Asking Questions
After finding the ouija board, go towards the nearest room with suspected paranormal activity and left click the mouse to activate it. Once it starts glowing, the Phasmophobia player can choose from a list of questions to ask. Speak clearly and write down the ghost’s response.
- Did you murder? Who did you kill/murder? Who died? Who is your victim? What is your victim? What is the name of the person you killed? What is the name of the person you murdered? Are you old? Are you young? How many years have you been dead? How many years ago did you die? How long have you been here? How many people are in this room? How many ghosts are in this room? What is your favorite room? Where is your room? Are you alone? Where are you? Are you here/close? Are there any spirits? Are you near/around?
Note that using the ouija board will automatically drain sanity. Furthermore, the ghost may be angered by some question, which cause more sanity loss and the team to get attacked so take care not to push it too far.
While there’s a significant risk to using the ouija board, it’s always an option especially if players need more evidence in Phasmophobia to identify the ghost.
