A minute has passed since the release of Pikmin 3 Deluxe, and gamers are once again enjoying the presence of these little aliens. Pikmin 3 Deluxe is similar to the original Pikmin 3 but with some new and exciting features. With some new additions, the fun doesn’t have to end after finishing the game.
Most players can find themselves spending hours on different challenges Pikmin 3 Deluxe has to offer. Some of these are new additions only available on this new version, but others are classics brought back from previous games. Either way, here are ten things to do after beating the game.
10 Conquer Mission Mode
Mission Mode offers a way to continue playing after other parts of the game are finished. Much like Story Mode, players have to collect fruit, defeat enemies, and so on. However, the difference with Mission Mode is that it is on a strict timer that requires the player to finish a certain amount of tasks by the end. This section is different than the Story Mode as it allows you to complete tasks over an extended period. Multiple levels can offer a lot of overtime to those looking for more.
9 Take a lot of Pictures
No matter what type of Pikmin is in your group, each one is absolutely adorable. Aside from the precious characters, the landscape and creatures are well designed. The lovely scenery and its contents are more than worthy of a few good pictures. For those looking to show friends their perspective or slap the internet with their personal journey in the world of Pikmin, take advantage of the enhanced camera feature. Go back and take a picture at any time, any place.
8 Collect All the Fruit
Collecting fruit and watching it get squished into juice is one of the greatest pleasures in the game. The plot of the main game includes collecting enough fruit to save Alph, Brittany, and Charlie’s world from dying. It is also really important to collect fruit to ensure the characters do not starve as they need one container of juice per day. Furthermore, one of the most satisfying moments in the game comes from the reading of the interesting names these characters give the fruit and then watching the liquid gets poured into containers.
It’s easy to miss fruits while progressing through the story, so once players finish the game, going back to finish collecting the fruit could be a great way to extend the fun.
7 Play in Co-Op
The Pikmin series takes the term, not enough hours in the day, to another level. If players do not want to face story mode or side missions solo, the game offers the option to play as two. With the addition of Co-Op, you can team up with friends or other locals looking for a player-two as well. Have twice the fun the second time around by plating with someone else.
6 Play Olimar’s Comeback
Olimar’s Comeback is similar to Mission Mode, but instead, you get to enjoy playing as the original Pikmin ally, Captain Olimar. This side mission makes good use of Olimar and Louise as they complete each level filled with twists and turns. Levels require strategy and skill, so be prepared to play and replay them to complete the entire side mission.
5 Earn Every Platinum Medal
Whether players decide to play Olimar’s Comeback or Mission Mode, each section awards medals based on the player’s performance. There are so many levels in each of these sections, gamers could spend hours getting through each of them. With that in mind, getting the platinum medals for each one is a different test.
The game considers several factors to award the highest medal. Meeting the requirements takes skill, so players can expect a decent amount of after game fun doing this.
4 Complete the Piklopedia
The world of Pikmin is filled with beautiful and dangerous creatures, so documenting all of them is a must on the to-do list. Alph, Brittany, Charlie, Louie, and Olimar give their two cents on each creature encountered. The fun and character-driven commentary/ observations make it worth the effort. Even if the Piklopedia is completed, by the time gamers finish playing, it is worth taking the time to read each character’s commentary on all 55 creatures.
3 Earn All the Badges
Badges can be earned by accomplishing certain actions in different parts of the game. Some badges can be earned in story mode, side story mode, mission mode, and more. 50 badges in total can be achieved through playing the game, so those who finished early can go back to get them all.
Once players are done, going back and looking over all the progress they made by gaining each badge is a rewarding experience. Some of these badges are easy to get the first time around but gamers should be ready to go backtrack and play some more to have everyone.
2 Compete in Bingo Battles
Duke it out with a fun new version of bingo. Players get pitted against other local players, and the objective is clear. At the start of each game, players are given a bingo card, and the rules are simple. Get each item on the bingo card until players get a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line. Gamers will get a new sense of challenge with this addition. Players can strategies in a new way as it involves a different type of competitive gameplay compared to the rest of the game.
1 Make the Leaderboard
Online leaderboards are a fun motivation to keep playing after all the objectives have been completed. The addition of online leaderboards has motivated Pikmin players to keep reaching for higher rankings. Keep the spirit of competition alive by keeping an eye on the leaderboards after finishing Pikmin 3 Deluxe.
