National Parks: Get Wild is the family board game that lets people support their national parks even while they’re closed. Support preservation of land and animal life by picking up this dice based game to add to the collection.

To flatten the COVID-19 curve, U.S. national parks have been shut down, which has impacted both lovers of the outdoors and the parks themselves. In order to keep the love alive, the National Parks Foundation has joined up with board game and puzzle manufacturer, The OP, to create a game that is educational, engaging, and philanthropic. Part of the proceeds from National Parks: Get Wild sales will go back to the National Park Foundation. A dozen parks are featured in this game from every part of the country including Zion, Cape Hatteras, the Grand Canyon, Crater Lake, and North Cascades.

The goal of the game revolves around managing the natural habitat. Playable by three to six people, the objective is to restore the particular park’s ecosystem by collecting all of the necessary animals before anyone else. The 60 animal tokens are divided in to six individuals: lynx, sea turtle, bison, black bear, rattlesnakes, and the bald eagle. Players have to roll three distinct dice in order to collect animals and move in different directions. The game has a lot of give and take and sounds like it can get pretty cutthroat, it’s just as easy to screw someone over as it is to further your own advancement of the rattlesnake population in the Grand Canyon.

It’s definitely not a replacement for getting out and seeing the actual sites but National Parks: Get Wild is a nice way to spend an evening with family and friends. The double sided boards show off some of the beautiful views and vistas of these cherished patches of land. Giving back to the Parks system while also entertaining ourselves is really a win-win for anyone who invests in this game. Better yet, it’s only $20.

National Parks: Get Wild is a simple game that can keep people playing for an entire evening and is a great summertime game for families.
