A wall bearing photos of some of PlayStation’s exclusive titles has popped up in the newest installment of Animal Crossing. This follows news of Sony having to take Nintendo-themed creations down in Dreams.
Sony’s actions weren’t as a result of their being angry Nintendo characters were showing up in their game, although they strongly encourage original creations. Nintendo is known to seek out unlicensed usage of their properties and issue cease and desist warnings, so when a creator built Super Mario-inspired content with the PlayStation 4 development tool, Sony received word from the character’s owners.

The content was taken down and the user was asked not to make any more games bearing likenesses of any titles released by Nintendo. Of course, Sony must have been happy to pass on the message, but the feeling was they weren’t all that bothered by Nintendo’s most iconic character showing up on their system.
On Monday, a bit of the reverse happened, with a Redditor posting an image showing a wall filled with framed PlayStation characters, including God of War’s Kratos, Spider-Man and Deacon from Days Gone in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
It’s quite tickling and one can only reckon that Nintendo wouldn’t be happy about having such characters in their brand-new release. The photo got quite a bit of traction from Reddit and other users were very curious as to how they could do it themselves - we have to imagine they’re not only keen on uploading photos of PlayStation’s unmistakable characters.
A user suggested downloading the Nintendo Online app on mobile, enabling Nooklink in the game and then scanning QR codes for custom images.
Maybe Nintendo catches up and has it removed from the game, maybe they don’t. But the image is likely to be up on Reddit for a while.
