PlayStation 4 has made some big announcements about their upcoming game, Marvel’s Avengers, and it is going to be epic.
Marvel’s Avengers will be dropping in exactly a month, and fans are getting pumped. The game will feature some favorites from the MCU such as Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow, as well as a fresh face in Ms. Marvel. Playing either solo or as a four-person team through the co-op function, Marvel’s Avengers sets gamers up to play their way through a unique storyline and customize their characters along the way.
To stoke the fire around Marvel’s Avengers, PlayStation announced a few special features the game will be packing. Community Challenges will launch once a month, promoting the use of group play and giving players special rewards. PlayStation is keeping the big details about these challenges under wraps for now, but they promise that they will be skill-friendly so everyone can participate.
Second on the docket is the cosmetics set for each Avenger. This is essentially the character customization element for Marvel’s Avengers but extends beyond just clothes and looks to include move sets, stories, and even special emotes. These special cosmetics will be ranked into four categories, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary, and will allow players to pump up their heroes with special moves and deck them out from head to toe in some iconic looks.
Marvel’s Avengers will fill a big void in the lives of a lot of fans, especially with the huge gap in content from the MCU as they gear up for their new direction. This game is going to be pretty huge, both in story and in significance to comic book and video game nerds out there. It’s nice to see Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel get her moment in the sun, when they could have so easily made this the year of Spider-Man video games (although, he will be coming to the game exclusively for PlayStation).
Even though Marvel’s Avengers isn’t out just yet, the buzz generated by this game is continuing to established PlayStation’s dominance in the gaming world. We’re lookin’ at you, Xbox.
