Want to get into anime, but have no idea where to start? Or are you an old-timer who needs yet another subscription to maintain? Either way, we’ve got some great news for you.
If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber, Sony’s setting you up with a two-month subscription to Funimation’s premium subscription person. This makes a lot of sense, considering that Sony actually owns Funimation, and it’s kind of surprising that this took longer to happen.
There’s a bit of a fun Willy Wonka twist to the whole thing, though. See, you’ll only get this offer if you’ve been subbed to PlayStation Plus for a little while. The thrust of the whole thing is that it’s a special treat for longtime subscribers. Are you a Johnny or Jilly-come-lately to the service? Too bad! No free anime for you!
But for the lucky ones, check the email associated with your PS Plus account. Sony’s probably sent you all the deets you need. The email will contain a voucher with a promo code that you plug into Funimation’s website. It’s worth noting that the code expires on 6/7/20, so smoke ’em if you got ’em, as it were.
This is a pretty great deal. Funimation’s got a nice backlog of titles, old and new, and they’re undoubtedly the biggest and most mainstream Western anime publisher out there. So if you’re a fan or newcomer, this is a great little offer that’s sure to make being locked inside a lot more palatable.
