Ghost-type Pokémon usually have move sets that are more expansive than the average creature because they have a dual typing instead of a single type. This allows for attack combinations that wouldn’t be present in most other Pokémon, and as such, these movesets will help Ghost-type Pokémon succeed to their full potential.

Ghost-type Pokémon also have high special attack stats, which will be important to utilize fully during Pokémon battles. Attacks such as Shadow Ball and Phantom Force will be universal. However, there will also be a few moves that will be helpful for each specific Pokémon.

10 Sableye - Shadow Claw, Confuse Ray, Power Gem, Disable

Decidueye is one of the starters of Generation 7, and it has a very interesting type when compared to other starter Pokémon. Decidueye can learn a lot of both Grass-type and Ghost-type moves, and because these are very different types of attacks, they will be indispensable when they are used side by side.

Moves such as Solar Beam and Phantom Force are the perfect moves for Decidueye to learn because of how much damage they deal to the opponent. Decidueye is also a bird, and as such, fans should teach it a Flying-type attack as seen with this moveset.

8 Gengar - Night Shade, Curse, Dark Pulse, Hypnosis

Gengar has been around since Generation 1, and it can use a plethora of Ghost-type attacks to defeat enemies. Attacks such as Curse, Night Shade, and Hypnosis mesh very well with each other, and all offer a unique effect that will damage enemies in different ways.

Hypnosis is perfect for putting the enemy Pokémon to sleep, and then Gengar can use Curse to potentially knock its health down, after which a Dark Pulse can be used to defeat the enemy and bring their health down quickly.

7 Gourgeist - Shadow Ball, Seed Bomb, Confuse Ray, Explosion

Gourgeist is a funny Pokémon, and it isn’t usually regarded as one of the most powerful Ghost-types in the franchise. However, a lot of fans would be surprised just how powerful Gourgeist can be when it is attacking with full force and has a powerful moveset.

Gourgeist is seen with different types of attacks in this move set, including Shadow Ball for Ghost-type damage-dealing and Seed Bomb for Grass-type attacks. Confuse Ray will also aid Gourgeist in battle by confusing the enemy Pokémon and allowing Gourgeist to be less likely to get hit by attacks. It would also be advantageous to throw the move explosion into the mix because it is the perfect last resort move.

6 Golurk - Shadow Force, Phantom Force, Earthquake, Dynamic Punch

Golurk is a giant, and it is known for using both physical and special attacks because of its extensive arsenal of attacks.

Phantom Force is a very powerful Ghost-type move, and fans should teach their Golurk it if they want it to be successful with Ghost-type attacks, and Earthquake will be perfect for Ground-type damage. Dynamic Punch will make full use out of Golurk, and it’s giant physical attributes.

5 Dhelmise - Anchor Shot, Power Whip, Hex, Phantom Force

Dhelmise is a very interesting Pokémon, and it has a lot going for it both in terms of stats and design. Dhelmise should be taught many different attacks mostly of the Ghost-type variety, with a Grass-type attack thrown in for some diversity.

This moveset is perfect because it will allow a lot of high damage dealing moves with attacks such as Anchor Shot, Phantom Force, and Power Whip. Players should immediately teach their Dhelmise Ghost-type attacks because that is where this Pokémon shines most.

4 Dragapult - Dragon Rush, Disable, Curse, Phantom Force

Dragapult with introduced in Generation 8, and it is a very weird looking Pokémon; however, it is also powerful. It is a Dragon-type Pokémon as its secondary type, and as such, you can learn lots of different attacks that will make combat a breeze when trying to defeat an enemy Pokémon.

Disable will come in handy during Pokémon battles; however, attacks such as Phantom Force and Dragon Rush are where this creature really shines. Dealing lots of damage in a low amount of turns is what players should attempt to do with a Dragapult, and this moveset is perfect for that goal.

3 Drifblim - Shadow Ball, Destiny Bond, Self-Destruct, Payback

Drifblim is a giant balloon Pokémon, and it can use a lot of attacks of different types, which will be crucial when trying to take down enemy Pokémon in the Sinnoh region.

This moveset will allow for Drifblim to use Shadow Ball and Destiny Bond as its Ghost-type attacks and Self-Destruct as a final solution in battle. Payback is also helpful if Ghost-type attacks have no effect on the enemy.

2 Giratina - Dragon Claw, Shadow Claw, Phantom Force, Earth Power

Giratina is one of the Legendary Pokémon that was introduced in Generation 4, and it has extremely powerful attacks, mostly due to the fact that its stats are so high.

Giratina lives in its shadow realm where it can train endlessly, which is why any trainer that catches it will be lucky to have such a powerful Pokémon by their side. Ghost-type attacks will be crucial for Giratina to succeed in battle; however, it should also be taught a few other types such as Dragon-type moves for extra security. This moveset will do just that.

1 Dusknoir - Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Shadow Punch, Destiny Bond

Dusknoir is a Pokémon that was introduced in Generation 4, and it can easily defeat enemies using its giant ghostly body. Dusknoir will use its large hands to full effect with this moveset by learning three different types of punches, one being a Ghost-type attack.

Destiny Bond is also a powerful move, and players will find that it will be helpful when trying to take down enemies that are stronger or super-effective against Dusknoir. Players can’t go wrong with this interesting moveset because it covers many different types of moves.
