Grass-type Pokémon are generally one of the types that are most front and center in the franchise because they are very powerful and also in abundance within the Pokémon world. however, with all these Pokémon, there were sure to be some that were generally forgettable both in design and because they aren’t very powerful.'
The following Pokémon were unfortunately forgotten about by most trainers, and hopefully, they will gain relevance in the future of the franchise by either getting a new form of some kind or a new evolution that makes them more powerful.
10 Shroomish
Shroomish is exactly what it sounds like, a mushroom themed creature that is both cute and powerful because of its Grass-typing.
Trainers can catch Shroomish in the Hoenn region to defeat the first Rock-type gym, and it is one of the easiest Grass-types to catch when starting off on a journey in Generation 3. Fans, unfortunately, forget that Shroomish exists because of the better Hoenn Pokémon that exist in the region of the Grass-type, Tropius, for example.
9 Lilligant
Lilligant is a very elegant Pokémon, and many trainers that prefer beautiful Pokémon will want to catch this one if they ever make a stop in the Unova region.
Although Lilligant is a powerful Pokémon to some extent, it can’t compare to the likes of Serperior and other Grass-type Pokémon that were introduced in generation 5. As such, there are many Pokémon fans that completely forgot that Lilligant existed and probably won’t remember it anytime soon.
8 Leavanny
Leavanny was a Pokémon that was caught by Ash in the anime, and as such most fans would probably expect that it wouldn’t be easily forgotten. However, this creature isn’t very powerful, and its dual Bug-typing is one of the reasons for this.
Leavanny is one of the most unique Pokémon in design from generation 5; however, it doesn’t compare in terms of strength to other Pokémon that were introduced around the same time. Unfortunately, Leavanny will probably never have a memorable place in many trainer’s hearts.
7 Cherubi
Cherubi is absolutely adorable, and it is based on a cherry, which makes it an extra sweet Pokémon. Its design is terrific; however, it is also very weak, and it’s stats are some of the lowest that fans can find from the Sinnoh region, even including its evolution Cherrum.
Cherubi can learn powerful Grass-type attacks, which make it somewhat better, but that wasn’t enough to make Cherubi a memorable creature for most casual Pokémon fans. Hopefully, Cherubi gets an evolution or new form in the future that brings it back to relevance in the franchise.
6 Foongus
Foongus is a fungus Pokémon, and that made its likability very small in the Pokémon fan base. Although there were some trainers that admired its unique design, most we’re not impressed by its fungus appearance and did not like its theme at all.
Foongus could become popular by getting a new form of the future; however, that seems extremely unlikely, especially considering that it is disliked by so many fans. Sorry Foongus fans, but this Pokémon will probably never get the love that it deserves.
5 Jumpluff
Jumpluff is very weird in terms of its design, although it is somewhat cute. It is the final evolution of the Pokémon Hoppip, and that creature is somewhat more well-known than Jumpluff itself.
Jumpluff has very little relevance in the franchise, and it isn’t viable to use in competitive battling because it’s stats are very low compared to other much stronger Grass-type Pokémon. Jumpluff is one of the forgotten Johto creatures that most fans can’t even remember the name of.
4 Sunkern
Sunkern is adorable, and its seed-like appearance makes for a Pokémon that is very impressive in design, especially considering that it was introduced in generation 2.
However, despite the fact that Sunkern is universally admired by most Pokémon fans that catch a glimpse of it, it is not very memorable otherwise, and as such, many fans forget it existed, especially since it hasn’t had much relevance in that series since generation 2.
3 Maractus
Maractus is another generation 5 Pokémon that most players can’t remember, and its cactus design is generally overused in the series because there are better cactus creatures for players to catch, such as Cacturne.
Maractus is an interesting Pokémon, and players can find it populating the deserts of you Unova, which means that many characters in the Pokémon world have never even seen maractus up close. Generally, Maractus is a rare Pokémon, and most fans either never encountered it or completely forgot about it after generation 5 was over.
2 Snover
Snover is a dual Ice/Grass-type that fans could first catch in generation 4. There are few Pokémon that are as powerful as Snover that fans forgot about, and that is mostly due to the weird design that Snover has.
Snover is the pre-evolution of the abominable snowman Pokémon, Abomasnow, and as such, it’s evolution generally steals the spotlight. It’s a shame that many Pokémon fans forgot about Snover because it is very powerful, and its stats are somewhat high for a first form evolution Pokémon.
1 Ferrothorn
Ferrothorn was introduced in generation 5, similar to many other creatures that have been forgotten about in the franchise. This Grass-type Pokémon is both a Steel and a Grass-type, which gives it a unique typing that can defend and attack using powerful moves.
Ferrothorn has a high defense stat, and this is probably due to its Steel-typing, with its Grass-type giving it the power to use offensive attacks. Many competitive players still use Ferrothorn from time to time, although most fans can’t even remember that this creature was ever introduced. Ferrothorn would be the perfect Pokémon to gain a new evolution in the future because its final form is somewhat unimpressive in appearance.
