Chairman Rose has become a fan favorite character within the Pokémon franchise extremely quickly and there are many good reasons that players love him. There are definitely some strong Pokémon that Rose has in his party and he is known for being one of the most powerful trainers in the entirety of the Galar region. Players had trouble fighting this chairman and because of how so many fans forgot about his typing of choice, his love of Steel-type Pokémon deserves its place on this list.
9 Coal Mine
Oleana revealed that Chairman Rose worked inside of a coal mine at some point in his life. It is quite surprising but it definitely helps humble a man that seems larger than life. He is known throughout the region as a legend so the fact that he once worked in a coal mine is an interesting surprise.

A lot of trainers often forget that Chairman Rose was once nothing more than an average competitor in the Galar league himself. Because he is such a larger than life man and has a winning personality, it is easy to not even question how he earned his spot as the Chairman.
Rose is a very powerful trainer and it is hard to imagine him as a young man trying to find his place in the Pokémon world. Some players may have missed the fact that he was once just a young trainer following his dream the same as everyone else. It would be fun to play as him in a Sword and Shield prequel but that probably won’t happen.
5 Unlikely Villian
It isn’t every Pokémon game that the main villain is the same character that is featured in the introduction sequence of the game. Most players probably weren’t expecting the kind-looking man to end up almost bring a disaster upon the region by the end of the game but that’s exactly what happened.
It was definitely a shock for many players to find out that Chairman Rose had a rebellious side and it was very weird seeing someone the player once looked up to as a reckless and dangerous man. In any case, it was very bizarre to see the introduction character become one of the most villainous characters in the plot of Sword and Shield.
4 Rose
Chairman Rose has a flower directly referenced in his name. Rose is a strange name for a male character so some players may be confused as to why it was picked. The name Rose probably refers to the flower and as many fans know it is not uncommon for characters in the Pokémon franchise to be named after certain kinds of plants.
Rose’s name is obviously known by every player but many fans don’t stop to consider that it contributes to a greater theme within the franchise. Or perhaps roses are just his favorite flower!
3 Bede
Bede was endorsed by Chairman Rose for the gym challenge during the plot of Sword and Shield. The reason for this may be almost completely because Rose was trying to get his hands on a large number of wishing stars that are scattered throughout the Galar region and he needed somebody to do the work for him
Bede didn’t necessarily know why Rose needed the wishing stars so urgently which may have been the reason they worked so well together. Bede didn’t often question Chairman Rose’s reasons for doing things which is most likely the reason that he mentored Bede.
2 Battle Soundtrack
Lots of characters in the Pokémon game series get there own unique battle theme music while players are fighting them. With Chairman Rose being such a large and important character throughout the games, he was surely bound to get his own as well.
Throughout the theme words can actually be heard but only if the listener is paying very close attention. They say “Go, Rose! Save Everyone!”. This is very bizarre because, in reality, he ends up causing many negative things to happen during the plot of the game so those words aren’t exactly the most accurate.
1 Businessman
Perhaps the most interesting and unknown fact about Chairman Rose is that he is a businessman who owns a plethora of different companies all throughout the Galar region. This interesting tidbit is often overshadowed by his Chairman status leaving fans to think that all he does in his life is related to the Pokémon League.
Chairman Rose definitely has many hidden parts of his life and although his business ventures may not be a secret it appears that he is much more famous for his Chairman seat than his successful businesses. Rose is one fascinating guy!
