The recently released Pokémon Café Mix is a charming touch puzzle game where players run their own Pokémon café with the help of some adorably rendered Pokémon. The game is free-to-play and available for the Nintendo Switch and for mobile phones (both iOS and Android), making it accessible for nearly everyone who wants to try their hand at serving some yummy looking Pokémon dishes.
But the Switch and mobile phone are two completely different consoles, so how do the two match up? What are the differences and similarities between the two?
Downloading the Game
Before even playing the game, you’ll need to find it first - and both versions of the game have their own unique places where you can download it.
For the Switch version, you can download the game on the Nintendo eShop. There is no physical copy available.
For the mobile version, you can download the game from the App Store if you’re using an iOS product, or from the Google Play Store if you’re on an Android.
In-Game Purchases
Though Pokémon Café Mix is free-to-play, there are a couple of in-game purchases available, such as buying more golden acorns (in-game currency) to purchase more hearts (lives).
If you’re playing on the Switch, you can pay by either using a Nintendo Shop card or a credit card.
If you’re playing on a mobile phone, you can use either an iTunes or Google Play gift card to make purchases, depending on your device. For both devices, you can also use a credit card.
Similarities
Both versions of the game utilize touch-based puzzles, meaning if you’re using a dockable Nintendo Switch, you can only play the game in its handheld form and not when the Switch is in its charging station.
Otherwise, the two versions are mostly similar! So whether you choose to download the game to your Switch or phone, you’re bound to have a fun time whipping up some tasty Pokémon-themed dishes.
Pokémon Café Mix is available now for the Nintendo Switch and for iOS and Android mobile phones. The game is free-to-play.
