If you’ve ever wanted to completely pass out on a body pillow shaped like everyone’s favorite electric-type Pokémon Pikachu, then you are in luck - you can now pre-order this giant body pillow resembling Pikachu’s lightning-shaped tail.
The Pokémon Company has just announced a brand new product to join their already impressive and vast roster. The latest product is called the “Pikachu Tail body pillow” and will be available at the Pokémon Center Japan.
The product was announced on the Pokémon Center Japan’s official Twitter account (@pikachu_pcn) along with information about how customers can order the pillow, as well as a product description.
The Pikachu Tail body pillow is “make-to-order” and will be available for pre-order beginning at the end of the month, July 31, 2020. Interested customers can pre-order the mask from then until August 27.
The pillow is shaped like Pikachu’s tail, which is in the shape of a lightning bolt and is predominantly yellow, save for the brown tip. Details from the official product description specify that the pillow is 110 cm long (43 inches, or 3.6 feet). It weighs 2 kg (4.4 lbs). It will retail for 8658 yen (about 81 USD).
The pictures accompanying the product show a young woman in various positions with the pillow - one where she’s lying on top of it, another where she’s lying next to it while squeezing the pillow in her arms, another where she’s standing and squeezing it, one where she’s sitting up and holding it, and another where she’s sitting with it across her lap. The photos also seem to indicate that the pillow is very soft, as in one photo the model can be seen squeezing the pillow tightly to her chest.
Clearly, the pillow is very versatile and can be used while doing a number of different things. Whether you need to take a quick nap after a long day of playing Pokémon games on your phone or console, need somewhere to rest your head while watching some more episodes of the Pokémon anime, or just need something to hug that reminds you of the adorable Pikachu, this body pillow can help you with that.
