Niantic is letting Pokémon GO players decide the stars of the game’s next two Community Days, once again giving them four options.
Niantic holds one Community Day per month in Pokémon GO. Each Community Day focuses on a different Pokémon. Throughout that day, the chosen Pokémon will spawn more often, its shiny variant could appear, and its evolved form will know an exclusive move. Plenty of reasons to get involved, even if a trainer believes they already have as many of said Pokémon as they will ever need.
The only issue with Pokémon GO’s Community Days is the Pokémon Niantic selects for them. They can often be underwhelming and many trainers claim it isn’t worth their time. However, the developer has been trying out something new this year. A couple of times, it has handed the choice over to the players. Granted, it only gives them four options, but that’s better than no choice at all.
Niantic is handing the choice over to trainers for the third time. They will get to decide which two Pokémon star in September and October’s Community Days. The options this time around are Porygon, Caterpie, Charmander, and Grimer. Almost definitely the strongest set of options Niantic has offered up so far, although we think we know which Pokémon is going to win by a landslide.
Chances are the bulk of trainers are going to vote for Porygon. The normal-type almost never appears in the wild, and since it has two stages of evolution, there’s a very real chance a lot of trainers don’t have both of its evolved forms. A chance to get as much Porygon candy as possible, and also a first opportunity to catch a shiny Porygon, is not one many trainers are going to pass up.
The reason we say don’t vote for Porygon is because it is so likely that it will win anyway, a vote for Porygon would be a wasted one. Instead, vote for the Pokémon you would like to see take center stage during October’s Community Day. While not confirmed by Niantic, chances are the winner of the poll will be September’s focus, and the runner-up will be the star of October’s Community Day. Let the masses vote for Porygon and focus on making sure the runner-up is the most worthwhile option from those who remain.
