More Galarian forms are coming to Pokémon GO, including the debut of Galarain Stunfisk if the latest teaser is anything to go by.
For the past four weeks, Pokémon GO has been celebrating some of its most famous regions. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and the Sinnoh Throwback event which may well have just come to an end as you read this. Each event has featured nine levels of research tasks and given trainers the chance to fill in gaps in the first four generations of their Pokédex.
In terms of regions and generations that have been added to Pokémon GO, that just leaves Unova. Although it isn’t getting its own Throwback Event, the Pokémon of Unova will feature heavily during next week’s Throwback Challenge Champion 2020 Event. Trainers who completed all four weeks of Throwback Event research will qualify for the event and the research that comes with it.
There is more reason to do that than Unova-related research alone. It will also usher in the debuts of many Galarian forms of Pokémon. Although many of the Galarian forms to make their Pokémon GO debuts have been either discovered or revealed, it would appear that Niantic still has a couple of surprises up its sleeve. That was revealed via a tease on Twitter this week.
The tweet appears to be teasing the Pokémon GO debut of Galarian-form Stunfisk. The caption reads “Living in mud with a high iron content has given this Pokémon a strong steel body,” and offers up a “Who’s that Pokémon?” type scenario via an outline in the mud. The Galarian form of Stunfisk is a ground/steel type, so the riddle speaking of mud and iron all adds up.
Although there is no date given as to when Galarian Stunfisk will be making its debut, it’s assumed it will make an appearance during the next and final Throwback Event along with all of the other Galarian forms. Exciting stuff for trainers who have been filling in gaps in their Pokédex for the past four weeks and now want to expand it by catching new Pokémon coming to the game.
